Since I had to get a replacement phone, it was sent to me completely updated (naturally). So now this one is running ZVB (****!!) and I have no way to go back. I read there was a custom ROM I could install but I didn't want to do that, so I'm looking for any other loophole possible. That being said, I looked for a way to get hold of my MSL code. Found a way, and now I can get into the ##3282# menu to edit if I want. I went to the APN Settings menu and selected APN authentication. For reference

I cannot seem to find an "APN type" anywhere like the hidden menu with ZV6 to add "dun" to the list. I'm curious to know where to go next and any help would be appreciated.

As far as I know, the APN change only works in ZV6, and in some cases in which folks update their profile it stops working even when running ZV6. Maybe someone knows more than I do, but I don't think there are any options for joy in ZVB.

May I ask what happened to your original phone? My refurb replacement just went into bootloop. I contacted LG and they agreed to fix it. I included a note where I ask them not to update the firmware of the phone (it's on ZVA). We'll see what happens, but if I get it back and can't tether I'll be very disappointed.

My phone took a dip in the pool with me on the 4th. I'm starting to wonder if all it needs is a screen/digitizer replacement. I ordered another, so I'll see how effective it is.

If my phone comes back with ZVC I will probably look for a new phone that I could tether with. I guess I need to find which phones have that capability.

If it comes back with ZVB, I guess I'll try my luck with MellowMallow.
