I have finally had enough of my shield lagging for the last year and have decided to explore root /custom rom options. It has been a while since I did custom roms and rooting, so I'm not entirely unfamiliar with the process. I've tried the towel root method and it doesn't work for my shield, but this looks like it's because my shield is on the latest shield software (5.4). I have seen the bootloader option of rooting the tablet but wanted to see if anyone knows of it would work.
