..like I said just my perspective, which is how I see it...that means I cannot be wrong, you may disagree which is all healthy, however posting abuse to prove your points makes you appear fearful and weak.

Fearful of what. The HTC One? For what, I have nothing to do with HTC or Sony. The success or failure of either of these companies makes no difference to me.
What are these flaws you speak of. Oh! I forgot viewing angles and it's external speakers.
Well enjoy the one's inferior display because you can see it's inferiority from all angles and good luck with rocking your tunes through boomsound. I too was convinced the htc had the better display until I saw its video playback quality and gaming graphics. Well to put it simply, the Z beats it comfortably where it truly matters. Maybe you like starting at you homescreens for hours on end but I actually use my display mostly to view content and play games. The detail and clarity of the Zs display is unrivaled and since the primary function is to show the image, the display that shows it best is the one that's more detailed and clearer. The Sony Z. Go to YouTube and search for lionking853, he's done a lot of gaming comparisons where not only is the image always better on the Z, but when you pause any scene and look closely, you'll discover that there are items visible on the Zs display that are either blurred on the One or just completely lost altogether. The plot just thickens with these HTC jokers. You're the enlightened ones, that's all fine, just leave us misguided Sony Z users alone to carry on in our ignorance in peace.
Go join them in the HTC section where they proclaim the second coming of the messiah, albeit one dressed in robes funkier than the Commodores on crack! with shortcomings, many of which are actually quite fundamental.
Go and join them, inflate the HTC One bubble even more.
You'll feel right at home there.

He posted his thoughts. He didn't say matter of factly that the One was better so he can't be wrong. We get it, you like your phone. Quit being a dink and grow up pal.

Lads this post wasn't to raise a debate. I was looking peoples opinions on each phone if they had any experience or knowledge of any one of the phones. I can only speak from experience. I had the XZ for two weeks. Best phone I ever had by a mile. The battery, sound (in-call, and overall) which are important features for me were not as good as I hoped. Vodafone allowing me to swap while out of my cooling period was down to nothing more than awesome customer service and a break down in communication by the agents. It's not the first time Vodafone has done me a great service. If trading had of cost me any expense I wouldn't have bothered cause I didn't see much difference. Having the phone and playing about with it the past week I can say I am more than happy with my trade. For me the HTC One is a more quality feel, miles louder (in-call n overall) and the battery, life is considerably better. Well done to HTC. Sony XZ is a smashing phone no doubt but for ME the HTC is the ONE.

Thanks again for all your help, advice and input.

That's the trouble, I don't think you were. I don't even know why people ask these questions anyway. Nobody knows what phone bests suits you than you yourself so why ask the question. It only opens up the door to silly remarks like the one's from Jason whatshisname.
Some people will replace their Zs with one's while others for other reasons will do the opposite. It's all part of it. All the best with your one even though somehow I believe that was the way you intended to go from the off. You probably just got the z to see what it was like but htc is more your thing.

There is only one post of silly remarks that's you taking everyone else's opinions to heart about your prescious phone and not being able to handle someone not sharing your opinion...as with the other guy mine is in call volume because I actually talk on phone, camera cos I have friends to take pics of, battery life because I make good use of being the main reasons I mean I will finish on a good point for xz it's the best phone I ever had for using 0 battery when not in use...there you go, now is Easter holiday over yet?

And we don't need to hear that type of complaint. That's what I'm saying, when someone complains about an issue that's actually present, we'll all listen to them but when someone just opens their mouth to talk nonsense, then that's a very different issue.
Camera was an issue and the solution you came up with was htc one camera. That's why you can't be taken seriously. Just another joker trying to stir up a confrontation.
Call volume? Have you got hearing issues?
You're fabricating crap to talk nonsense. Your a HTC One user. Why don't you just stay in the HTC One section, what benefit does your presence here bring to either yourself or the rest of us. Oh sorry I forgot you're trying to enlighten the rest of us poor souls.

How boring would our lives be if we all agreed. Everyone has an opinion usually a different one at that. Voice your opinion, don't slate others just because it's not the same as yours or it's against yours, you ain't going to change it. HTC is phone for ME. Anyone that says XZ isn't a good phone has extremely high standards. I asked the question for knowledge and advice. If I new I'd love the HTC I wouldn't have asked. Don't understand how I can be criticized for posting on this forum. I got excellent responses. Now I'm just getting a lot of clashing opinion nonsense. Debate ends here lads. Thanks for your advice those who have any (which is what the post was all about)

HTC One drop test should worry people too. The frame bends and dents and the speaker grill comes off all too easily. Considering it's almost impossible to fix unless you send it back to HTC, I personally wouldn't risk it.

Hello to all!

Maybe a better idea would be to ask about objective issues that users have noticed on their phones?
There is a principle used in continued improvement methodologies for setting goals, that sais that in order to evaluate something it has to be SMART(specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, timely)

Specific: if you say something like "this phone is better", or even "the camera is better", then that is not specific at all. It would be better to say something like "the geekbench for this phone was higher" or "the load time for the camera app is noticeably faster", or something of the sorts.

Measurable: why not use benchmarks. Or even better, perform little experiments proving what you are stating. Eg: time how long it takes for your camera to load, write down how many drop calls you get out of your total, measure your signal strength vs other devices, etc

Attainable: this maybe doesn't fit to well for our comparisons, but I would say that you shouldn't compare specs that are not really present on a phone. If you say one phone sucks because it does not have this or that, then think if it sucks just for you, or if it maybe a design choice that other users might be ok with.

Relevant: is there a real impact on the user experience by having a slight advantage on this or that spec? Is it a deal breaker? Does it add value to you as a user? Does it add anything significant? If not, then you might be selling smoke.

Timely: Choose to compare things in the light of current events. Sometimes history helps us know manufacturers better, but sometimes it blinds us from the true current status of the brand. What is the manufacturer has changed policies abbot being developer friendly? What if it has changed material philosophy? Or what it has gotten too comfortable with its position and it is now unwilling to innovate? What I'm saying here is that although the history is important, we should also be willing to accept that our favourite brand or our most hated one could be leaning towards middle points, or even moving towards the opposite side. Be objective when discussing brands, because they are all in for your money and will do what ifs necessary to get it. The choice is yours.

Well those are my two cents.. I felt like writing something like this a long time ago, since there are many threads that devolve into this kinds of discussions, and there is really no point on doing it without objective opinions.:)

I would love to have both the S4 and the XZ..for me, i really dont listen to music on speakers and zoe? Who needs that? Honestly? Its still matter of preference..eventually HTC.will go under.. :p

If you are going to hop phone just because the next phone is faster and etc, then make sure you print money for a living because the next phone from whatever brand is always going to be faster and better. I don't know how you do things in your country but where I am from, there is no such things as full refund, once we bought a phone, either we stick with it or we burn more money by selling it with a second hand phone price tag and get the next new better phone.

Well I'm glad I didn't believe the negative reviews for this phone.
Just went out and bought the beast.
Galaxy S3. Pfft. Wife has that now.
HTC One will not touch this seriously. That's coming from a HTC fan from the nexus one days too. One X was the nail in the coffin for me personally. Amazing screen, the best at the time. Camera was ok, bad WiFi. Bad GPS. Battery life sucked. Sense was awesome though.
Sony has done very well here.
Ui is clean. Reception is strong in all areas. Getting better phone reception where the one x, nexus 4 and galaxy s 3 failed alot of the time.
The only thing holding me back really was screen and volume.
The volume is way louder than I thought.
The screen is amazing, especially in sunlight.
Wtf?
And the speed.
Good luck with HTC mate.
All quality control staff were sacked years ago. Lol.
