It is, but you should not be worried. I finally found the issue... At least, I think I found out. It has not worked because I used the new version of TWRP (v. 3.3.1-0), so I downgraded to (v. 3.3.0-0) and it flashed perfectly without any errors.

Is there a way to add mixer_paths_auxpcm.xml and media_codecs.xml to the script? Does it change something or mixer_paths.xml and media_profiles.xml are enough?

that conf was just a test about controlling maximum cpu temps, but I think it didn't do anything at all.

what are those two xml? and why you want to change it? mixer_paths.xml is where all VOLUME related are and media_profiles control quality of encoded VIDEO files

I got the normal version, it works, but the front speaker is too loud it distorts, when I cover the front speaker with my finger it sounds good.
Any way to edit the file and make the front speaker less loud ?

The higher version makes everything too loud, but both versions have some type of hiss, white static noise. Unfortunately I am not sure how to describe the noise I heard. It's more noticed on the higher version, but it's available in the normal one as well and kinda annoying.
I thought it was something related to my phone being too old, some hardware issue, so I installed the original rom and the sound works pretty nicely. No need to use this fix, but when you switch to another custom rom this happens. This user "fix" was the best one I've found around the internet, others didn't work or have had more issues.

There's no way this would cause hiss. People, this ONLY raises mic volume and a tiny bit of the speaker. If you find that your speaker got too loud, just lower the volume by pressing the "volume down" button on the left side of your phone, that's why it exists FOR GOD'S SAKE

On regular phone calls, When using loud speaker other people struggle to hear me. On handset its fine, they can hear me OK. But when I have them on loud speaker it does something to my mic. My voice comes out in bits. Is there something we can do to fix this issue? Thanks mate

{retracted}just installed your Mod with LineageOS 16, 19th March 2020 Nightly. Mic gain works fine with my Bluetooth headset. But I got one major issue. When I only use the handset, the speaker is completely silent, not even the usual noise which you hear when the speaker becomes active.{/retracted}

EDIT: Sorry, it wasn't your mod. Restored an earlier Backup and applied it, and it's working perfectly. So, thx for the fix.

And for the record, you could just format /system and reinstall rom+gapps WITHOUT a "factory reset".. it's way faster and safe, won't lose any data or files

For me working all microphones EXEPT when making video call WhatsApp.
Everything has to stay same values, only for WhatsApp video call it has to change.

update: I returned to stock rom, installed zip and tested with speakerphone mode . worked but sound is low

See O.P. this is for Samsung S5
Note9 is different hardware so this all is useless for you.
You could however try to understand the mixpath file itself and change values and see what happens.
Be sure to make backup from original file.

Though the developer says in OP its for all variants S5, I have S5 Plus (kccat6) and after flash I winded up with ALL microphones dead. So him saying " it works with all S5 variants"... simply is not true. I have 2x S5 kccat6, both same result
Lucky me I had save complete TWRP.
