Lost phone, need to get new SIM on rooted backup phone

My mother in law lost her Lumia 900 so I am going to give her my backup phone, a rooted Captivate on AOCP 4.6. Do I need to go back to stock with a one-click or do you think it would matter ?

If it's the same carrier, it won't matter. If it's a different carrier, simply unlock the phone.

What I was thinking as it's already unlocked anyway. Debating what ROM to put on there for her as a daily driver. Any suggestions ? I think CM9 would just be overkill and 2.3.6. stock was quite terrible. Maybe resurrection remix ?

AOCP is one stable ROM, I'd stay with it
