Lots of battery drain while in standby mode

Thanks madbat99. In Settings-> Battery, I find that the main culprit (48%) is Screen. I wonder what the reason can be, since most of the time screen is switched off.
If it's your screen here are the reasons
_brightness ?% all the time
_using Motorola screen notification ( your screen is woken *everytime* you get a notification or just pick the phone up)
_you have battery optimization deactivated
_you are watching videos on your phone with screen brightness at ?%
_sometimes you forget to lock your screen so your screen stays on ...like you watch a video ..put the phone down .. screen stays on cos you didn't lock it and in settings you have *keep screen alive* so you don't need to unlock the device every few seconds while watching videos( or whatever it is you do that uses graphics and hd)

Mines been draining battery to zero overnight, with brightness at lowest and putting to sleep. Always very warm to touch, even in the middle of the night. Data off, etc., still drains to nothing.

Rooted, lineage.

Seems "Google Services" is consuming the most (while idle!)

You definitely have something wrong. Sounds like a rogue app, or a mod you're using causing a massive wakelock or something similar. Try better battery Stats to see what it is.

Mine gets warm and uses battery when I have Location on, especially if Maps is active. Other than that I don't notice any issues. Is your Location on? WiFi scanning?

Sent from my Asus P027 using XDA Labs

Hmm I guess not lol

Been running into the same issue. Stock rom,xt1768 uscc.

I installed better battery stats and when the issue occurs it will report that the phone was awake something like 57% of the time when the screen was off. I look thru the wakelocks and alarams and nothing stands out as the culprit. I've tried wiping cache, doing a factory reset, reflashing the rom. Nothing has stopped the issue from happening.

I doubt it's anything in the stock rom. I'm on stock, and I use Moto display too. So it lights up every time I pick it up, and I still do not have that issue. It's probably a rogue (or poorly coded) app. Try installing your apps 1 by 1 and checking battery drain as you go. Maybe 1 or 2 apps per day until you find the culprit.
Mine is rooted, and using greenify as well.

Unrelated to stock; you have a rogue app or potentially (albeit unlikely) a stuck sensor or dirty fingerprint scanner. I average <0.5%/hr idle drain with all radios on, moto active display active, full push mail (aka instant delivery) and several other background tasks that limit deep sleep. Ignore alarms and wakelocks; they are largely meaningless w.r.t. unexplained power consumption. Focus on apps, location services and dirty caches.

If you post an *idle* log in the BBS forum one of the members (possibly yours truly) will help identify the culprit(s). Good luck.

I find it strange it would be an app when the only thing that im running on the e4 thats different from my g4 play is bbs and all the other stock stuff.

Is there a way to get a log file from bbs? Did a quick check and didnt see anything.
Derp, found it. I'll have it log overnight again and see whats up.

I have yet to meet a healthy Android device that won't idle below 1%/hr avg battery drain assuming a well tamed app portfolio and reasonable environmental conditions (eg: decent signal strength). Most of my devices are half that. Folks love to blame ROMs, big, bad Google, manufactures, their neighbor, etc. Almost always boils down to crappy apps, dirty external sensors, poor environmental conditions, unrefined custom ROM/kernel build and/or a failing battery. Be interesting to see what the BBS dump reveals.

I've got a good 16hr idle log where it drained around 1% an hour instead of the usual .5 and posted it here https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/betterbatterystats/excessive-battery-drain-t3799568
your kernel is active ....kworker is a placeholder
if your device is truly not in use try to use some type of app to kill services running or forcing them to "doze" since kworker placeholders equals something making calls to system ( which apps are making system calls and why ?)which means your device is working even if you're not using it ...

• Normally, I'd charge it every night and then it'd be good for the whole day depending on how much I was on it. Now, all of a sudden I'll wake up and see that it's at a really low battery percentage so I restart it and sometimes the battery will go back to normal.. and sometimes it won't. I have no idea what's going on, can someone please help me fix this problem?

Have you looked to see what's draining it? In your battery settings
