To be honest, I never really use Google Play music. I am not on a stock ROM, but when I check the EQ in Play Music, it takes me to DSP manager, and yes, I have that disabled. V4A is all you need, since it has it's own built in EQ and more I wouldn't think you would need anything else. I did test it with Play Music, Apollo, Youtube, and several other apps, and it helps across the board. You can find everything you need to know in the first few posts of the thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2191223 . All credit goes to ViPER520 for the awesome work, and zhuhang for maintaining the thread beautifully. I would easily pay for this App. :good: :D

I bought the Faux Sound app' and it did increase the volume, but I kind of wished I would have waited. V4A works phenomenally on my 7. I've ran it in stock rooted and a couple different ROMs. It gives a great increase and the sound quality is great. Perfect fix IMO. I've only used it for increasing the speaker volume, and have not tested on headphones of Bluetooth' by it's free, and works better than any paid app I've bought. No disrespect to the dev of the Faux Sound app. It does what it says, and I'm happy to pay to support an excellent developer.
thanks for this. I would have not known about it. It's amazing really. However, I'm now using FAUX in combination with this V4A. The issue with V4A is that it does only work with certain music players. I got it to work fine with Google play Music. But it never worked with any of my video players. I'm more of a video guy. Plus I still needed a boost for things like Hulu & Netflix,... So now I can still get a general boost from FAUX for all apps. But the volume is way too loud within V4A. I disabled the boost funtion in V4A. I can still use it to make sound adjustments and clarity. when I need a music player.

Thanks...

You guys are talking about headphone volume here right? Almost started my own thread but thankfully noticed this first :D

Headphone volume on vlc and especially mxplayer is REALLY low. I have to cranck it up to 11 to hear anything whereas on my old S2 I'd blow my ears at that volume.

V4A is great, but for some reason it only works on play music on my N7. On s2 it applied to YouTube as well and probably on vlc too if I'd tried.

On MX player just activate the software decoder then push the volume to 30

For music it's plenty loud for my headphones using Franco kernel as in his app you can boost sound and gain to crazy levels. Also use V4A and the convoler for my headphones and the sound is great for music.
