you could try this command after succesful flash: fastboot boot name-of-recovery-file

then try to reboot > reboot to recovery inside the TWRP to see if its sticks...

Thanks for your reply.
I actually tried that command right after posting here, and the returned error was something like "recovery not a complete file", which lead me to think that it was a bad download.
Tha fastboot flash recovery command did not return any error, but I guess it just did not get actually flashed. Lucky I did not f* up anything with a bad download

Long story short, redownloaded, and then all went well, running a custom rom all good :good:

Thanks Op - used this twrp version to flash xiaomi.eu 8.12.6 and root via Magisk after waiting 2 weeks for the bootloader unlock.
Worked like a charm!

Question though - any clue if its save to update to Magisk 18.0 via magisk manager ?

Apparently it does. Updated to Magisk 18 via direct update from magisk manager - no issues.

This version is not able to decrypt access using the same code used in previous version and in android. The previous version has much more options. This new seems to be from other team...?

Using this TWRP I'm unable to decrypt /data partition. I have encrypted /data partition using Havoc clover build. TWRP asks me for pattern, but after inputting correct pattern I always get "Failed to decrypt data".

Decryption seems to work with this TWRP build https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-pad-4/how-to/offical-mokee-twrp-t3884087 .

No problem to install twrp from twrp. If this is img file, select recovery partition as answer from installer process.

Maybe because this TWRP is build against MIUI and for MIUI in mind?
I have no ide as I'm only sharing this and this one is working perfectly with MIUI based ROM.
