According to Letschky, you can just ignore that error message.
To get it working, make sure you use the Format Data (right most button), where you have to type "yes", and ALSO do the left button format (wipe? i forgot what it says), and select all the options except vendor and micro sdcard. After that, just flash the ROM and it should work.

One thing that confused the hell out of me was that a link was wrong. The link to LSR Rom B356 v2.5.0 had pointed to a ROM that actually had ALL the chinese apps + gapps. So everytime I installed it, I saw all the chinese apps, and i thought it wasn't working. After contacting Letschky, he fixed it, so now it points to the right one. Maybe you should download it again, the new one is only 1.4 GB or so (the Chinese apps + gapps is 2.4 gb or so).

But even when installing the Chinese Apps + Gapps 2.4gb one, one thing that I didn't realize, which had confused me as well, is that the gapps weren't anywhere on screen or obviously accessible after installing. To find them, I had to open one of those app folder things, click +, and then scroll through all available apps, and I saw some google apps listed there to add to the homescreen. Without doing that though, I would have never noticed gapps were installed.

Thank you much! I just downloaded it and it was the exact same size as the one I had. If this is correct, then maybe my problem was that I didn't Format Data as was suggested by @Spixe1 ?

By the way, will you be bringing Android 8.0 Oreo to us as well?

Is your Data mounted?if yes you need not format Data.

Not sure what happened, but after installing the image and rebooting to system, everything was fine. But the google apps were still missing. So I decided to do a Factory Reset and do the installation again. This time DATA is not mounted and I can't mount it. Not sure what happened.
Formatted Data. Reloaded your image. Looks good. Since HiApp is there I can load the Google stuff from there, like I did before.

Not sure I got it 100%, but this is still very cool! Thanks!

Bluetooth connects easily. I am using my headphones. Sound is great!
Voice Recorder seems functional.
I would have someone else confirm the above though.

Are you going to develop this ROM any further? Will you be adding in any features or taking suggestions? Just asking. Right now I think I'm good to load up all my apps.

Videos don't seem to go from edge to edge of the screen. I will have to figure that out....maybe quality of the videos.

I have to add that amazingly the bluetooth headset I am using usually has a problem with both sides staying on (even by just a tilt of the head).
Connecting to the Huawei Honor Note 8 is rock solid! BONUS!

I done basic stuff and installed your rom 356. But, I havent error on data mount, so just installed rom without format data on any stage. Rom booted normally but I not see root and play store... I suppose it is becouse not formated data before. So now? I need to go down advanced wipe, format data YES, err will come, go to erecovery format there, back to twrp, again full wipe and then install rom again???
Will get then play store and root?

format data in Twrp,that does not work,(issue with red Font) Reboot into Erecovery you have the Option format data Partition in erecovery.
Reboot back in Twrp and format Data and rest again,this works

Has anyone figured out a way to reprogram the home buttons? I'd like to be able to hold down the home key and open the camera, for example. Is this possible? I wasn't able to find any apps that can do this on google play, and it seems there are no settings for it in the Android OS this ROM uses.

@letschky - Is there a way to get this ROM upgraded to 7.1.2 while we wait for Oreo?

Has anyone experienced apps in the Accessibility area reverting back to OFF after a reboot though you turned it ON? One example is Tasker.

Magisk modules generally will not install. Usually ends up with:

- Mounting filesystems -
Mounting /system, /vendor, /data, /cache
! Magisk is not activated!
Failed!
! Installation failed

Magisk SU stuff all seems to work. There is root access for all the apps that require it and they are listed correctly.

I also tried just downloading the modules and flashing them with TWRP, but nothing seems to have happened after I reboot into the system.

@Spixe1 - Softkeys are hard to configure. I have had no success.

Just noticed the Recorder app does not appear in my apps list so can't check the call recorder functionality
I can record from within the Dialer but not sure where the files are kept and also can they be read by any other 'recorder' application

Also when I dial anyone it just 'connects' there is no 'outgoing ringtone'

Can anyone else confirm / deny this please

I've resolved the issue with the Sound Recorder app missing, just copied it from the original B350 Rom file and put it in the system/app folder & rebooted...voila the app is now showing up and all my recordings are accessible

Still don't seem to get an outbound ringtone but I can live with that
