Just get network app from the play store and pick LTE/gsm/cmda I'm running now I'm staight talk
OK, I'll keep that in mind.
Here is what I did when i had no success getting it to work;
I sent it to California to have an "unlock" mod done by someone that is in the business. (it should arrive back here today)
However I "may" need to implement other mods to get it to work in other aspects?
Thanks again for the info...

Wow that sucks you didn't have to do that also if you guys are okay with no Wi-Fi and Bluetooth you can take any cm12 or cm12 base gsm rom international or AT&T I haven't with t mobile. You just need to flash a ls990 kernel with it and remove the getprop line from the update script. I'm working I'm fixing the Bluetooth and Wi-Fi but it is gonna take awhile because I'm working on some watch faces too

It's OK, it was 35 buck plus shipping one way.
I'm sure someone will complete an install package just for this mod, maybe you?
BTW; I'm on t-mobile

Cloudy G3 v1.2 works. I am using it on Simple Mobile(T-Mobile USA) getting HSPA/UMTS(about 3-5mbps). Speeds arent great but that could be a few things not related to the phone, as the area i'm in isn't all that great for T-mobile reception. Here's what I did.

1)Flashed back to ZV4 (was on ZV6)
2)Stump Root + Bump'd twrp 2.8.4.0
3)Made backup of stock ZV4
4)Flashed Cloudy G3 v1.2 (select LS990 in aroma)
5)Booted. went into airplane mode. that stopped the force close for me
6)inserted sim
7)I typed *#*#4636#*#* in the dialer
8) go to "phone information" then scroll down and select (WCDMA/GSM Preferred)
9)used build prop editor to change lines in the build prop. the same 5 lines I changed when I used this rom on my sprint LS980. I used jsergio123's thread on the LS980 unlock HERE>http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2798566 Then I rebooted.
10)at that point I was able to turn off airplane mode, no more force close. I had data, calls, text, mms, and access to my apn. Like I said the speeds are iffy, but I haven't tested it fully. I will today. Rom is butter smooth otherwise. I hope this helps.
Hi man, i followed your steps exactly but still no luck...
The problem is i lost my imei, esn, meid and all the stuff in cloudy 1.2 turns out to be unknown. and also in the step "8" it doesnt turns out well because everytime i change to WCDMA or GSM or anything instead of unknown it always back to unknown no matter what. Do you have any idea about whats going on to my device?

Now i did restore nandroid backup and everything turns out good but i still wanna try the cloudy 1.2 due to experiencing sucks battery life in stock.

EDIT: Well i figure out that i was using ZV2 instead of ZV4, what a ridiculous mistake my bad.
Then i flashed ZV4 and flash cloudy 1.2 and everything work except when i change network selection to WCDMA only it turns out no signal. I tried almost everything probably but still no luck. I dont think its a hardware stuff because i was able to use wcdma network (global network selection, but rarely) in stock unlocked. Anyone can help me with this?

I started this to see which Roms people have gotten to work on GSM and how? If anyone has been able to get Roms working with GSM, please feel free to state which ROM, where you got it, and how you got it to work with GSM. I figured this would help keep threads cluttered with the same questions over and over. And yes I am one of those people.
I've found that all the ROMS for the ls990 work with GSM as long as you're rooted. All you need to do is edit the " build prop" to suit your carrier. Just change your network mode to LTE OR GSM and edit this line particularly
ro.build.target_operator=SPR change it to ro.build.target_operator=OPEN.
If you do not see this line in the build prop, then add it.

By all means, always make a backup of your build prop for future updates etc.

Hi!
Anything new with rom's for the LS990 ??
Tnx!
For GSM enabled roms I'm loving CloudyG3 2.5 with Solid Kernel installed (the rom's original kernel was using about 30% of my battery all the time). It's a stable Lollipop rom and Solid Kernel easily gets me about 3 hours screen on time. Fulmics 3.7 is a stellar Marshmallow rom (4 hours screen on time with stock kernel) but there are Bluetooth connection problems if you have a smartwatch (Bluetooth speakers now connect fine after flashing a fix). This smartwatch problem only seems to affect ls990 users. I use a smartwatch and like X Cam LG for a camera (there's no Marshmallow version yet) so I'm sticking with CloudyG3 2.5 for now.

Just choice a rom then follow a guide from the "general" thread. Sadly there is non for cm 12 if you choice to go to T-Mobile then please follow my guide!
I have converted an AS990 to LS990, and was now trying to use the phone with a GSM network. I tried the Patch for the LS990 procedure (abimael67) and tried Patch CDMA to GSM for Android Global Phones by Mentor.37 and the phone kept crashing giving errors when i inserted a sim. I then flashed the LS990ZV4_04.51101 tot file, then installed the PrimeGsm v7.1 with my tmobile sim installed. The phone slowed and almost froze up during lg install tool for the rom, but finally finished. The signal icon shows no connection, with the small spinning search never stopping. When i go to Settings > Networks, IT is locked on GSM/WCDMA/LTE auto and would not allow changing. I was able to select the correct APN that it had pulled up for Tmobile based carriers, so it must have detected the sim to some degree. I selected the Tmobile LTE APN, but it still is searching. I checked operators, and it was only detecting the ATT LTE, but it would not connect. I swapped in an ATT SIM, and it still deteccted the ATT LTE network , but still would not connect. Any suggestions? I think that something might have been corrupted over the many attempts, so does a TOT or KDZ flash return everything to factory?
