APN

Hi.
I had bought this LG g3 LS990 unlocked through ebay india to use as cdma phone and the seller had confirmed me that it will work as both cdma as well as gsm. Upon receiving the phone the sprint activation was bugging me again n again hence I tried stopping it and in the process the software got corrupt. Somehow i managed to root the phone again finding from forums online and stop that activation error also. Now the phone works perfectly fine(i am using gsm now) The only problem is that I am unable to use mobile data in it. It works perfectly through wifi. Please help me how to get my mobile internet working.. Thanks.
Download the app "APN Settings" from playstore. Use it to manually enter your APN settings

I second it works on LS990ZVF.
Was firstly confused that there is no noob instructions but, secondly, it only took 5 minutes to figure it out using Windows 10 and didn't affect anything. I couldn't find the 'Diag mode' setting. The 'adb reboot download' to replace "On line 27 in the bat file", change did not work. I still had to manually reboot. Anyway, it worked for me without a hitch.

In my opinion the noob instructions are SO easy that they cause confusion.

1) Download drivers, install (plug in your phone).
2) Download ZIP file, expand and run BAT file within and follow onscreen instructions.
When running the bat file, there will be progress reported and possibly instructions to follow like "reboot manually into download mode". To reboot into download mode 'manually': having the phone off, press and hold the Volume Up button, and while you're doing that connect the USB cable.
3) DONE.

It REALLY is that simple. There is nothing else to do.

If Progress hangs and refuses to move forward, remove/reinsert battery and start over

The whole process is fast. Done within ~5 minutes?

I used SuperSU to UNRoot for certain apps and RERooted just fine. YMMV of course.

[Edit]

Using LG-G3 LS990 upgraded to ZVF and a Win 7 Ultimate PC

... after using this root method?...
Off-Topic - Not the appropriate place to ask/answer. We (noobs) are about to get into trouble.

1) Down load, install and make a "Titanium Backup" of your Rooted Stock Rom.
2) Copy that back-up to cloud/PC (other location)(safety)
3) Install custom recovery (team win)

Do what-ever-the-heck you want (except to the bootloader) and you have the stock (with removable root) available to you when-ever you want to return to it including UNRoot.

{Edit}
The above is an overview "concept" with missing details. Please search/read/follow instruction at XDA-Developers.com for details on how to create a complete backup of your rom including turning it into a ZIP file to be used in recovery mode.
{/Edit}

{Edit2} Insert step 3) {/Edit2}

**Note - Noob asking a noob questions - Brings to mind the saying, "Blind leading the blind."

This is what I have gotten on 3 successive tries while running the .bat file:
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Starting adb server..
'adb.exe' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file.
'adb.exe' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file.

Waiting for device...
'adb.exe' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file.

Device detected!

Pushing files...
'adb.exe' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file.

Rebooting...
'adb' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file.

Looking for LG serial port...

'adb.exe' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file.
Serial port not found, please insert the phone manually into Download mode.

Disconnect the USB cable and turn off the phone.
Then press and hold the Volume Up button, and while you're doing that connect the USB cable again.

Waiting for device...

Phone found at COM4!

Installing LAF this might take a minute or two

Tried dl'ing and installing android studio - failed. In the setup wizard, android studio displayed some other language than English.

Tried dl'ing and installing an adb shell and fastboot and that didn't do anything for me.

I wuld appreciate some help here....thanks in advance.

@JMak00
Sounds like possibly you haven't expanded/unzipped/uncompressed the zip file. I know some people who will double click on a ZIP file to see what is inside of it and double click on a file and it will run. However, that is NOT the way compressed/zipped files are supposed to be used.

(if you haven't done so already,) Right click on the ZIP file and choose an option that says something like unzip/decompress/expand. I always accept the defaults and hit enter/yes/go to get the file to create a folder and all of the files inside of it.

Once the folder with it's contents are extracted, I would try the procedure again.

Problems persist? Ask again. Please remember if this doesn't work that "DETAILS" are always important when addressing a problem both in asking as well as answering.

Good Luck

If the solution above didn't rectify the situation, try copying the ZIP file to the Root of your hard-drive (Usually 'C:\' and not in a directory/folder) and expand the ZIP file there and running the BAT file from within that folder that the Zip file just created.

[Reasoning] If the zip file is buried inside of a location that is a very deep path with many sub-directories, the path can become "too long" for the computer to "see" the files/folders and thus the files would not be able to located and run correctly by the system.

Thanks, av. Im a little confused though. The zip you mention, are you talking about android studio or the file in the op? Im still wondering if I need to have android studio installed to run the .bat file.

I have a ssd (where my os is) and a hdd. The op's file is on my hdd...should I move it to my ssd where "c" is?

Thanks again...

Now I understand better. I dl'd the op's zip to my d drive, opened the zip and ran the .bat file without extracting. You think that might be causing the results that I posted above?

I've been only referring to the OPs file.

Yes, it can be on any drive letter but, it can't be TOO deep in folders.
Yes, the files must be extracted from the zip file before running the .bat file

[edit]
You know what? It's a batch file. Without auditing it, I would suggest you do PLACE IT ON YOUR C: DRIVE. I have no idea where/if there are absolutes in the file so, "C" would be better than "D" - where C is where you OS is located.

Thanks, again. When I plug my phone I to my pc, should I see the phone in device manager under ports? Or will I only see the phone in device manager after putting the phone into download mode?

The process was so quick and easy, I didn't do any trouble shooting.

Since the Phone is a device, I would assume it would be listed in Device manager in both instances however, the only place that I bothered looking was in Devices and Printers. It shows up there while in NORMAL running mode on my Win7 box.

I did have a pop-up message when I plugged it in the first time in download mode to reflect windows installing a driver. Due to that delay, I had to restart the procedure and when I did restart the process, 'POOF' completed.

Sorry for the vague answer. Hope it contains enough info for ya'
