Lumia 800 7 feet fall caught on tape

Hey guys, my Lumia 800 fell from a 7 feet height (aprox. 2 meters) while I was filming. It felt horrible, but not a single scratch on the Gorilla Glass and it even kept rolling. I'm impressed!

When it happened to me, the screen assembly popped apart, rendering the proximity sensor useless so the screen wouldn't activate during phone calls and I couldn't hang up calls without powering down.

A video on YouTube rescued me - one torx driver, and a small amount of superglue put me back in business!

My Lumia's first, and only fall, was quite impressive. Tiny chip out of the corner and the slightest hairline scratch above the display from it's 1 foot slide across pavement. The 2nd accident was when it was in my back pocket while gardening. I was sitting squat and lost my balance. I rolled back onto the sidewalk. There's a significant 1/4" scratch between the home and search buttons. Half of the scratch is over the display.

All in all, both accidents could have been much worse for a different phone.

With over 20 falls from different heights (kids in the house) it has only been chipped on three edges and a slight scratch on the glass, and its still rolling!

VERY durable. There are some Asian promo videos where the girl has the bystander drop the phone. The looks on their faces are great as it hits the ground. Then, they pick it up and see it's undamaged.

What about making a video of a Lumia stopping .50 cal bullets now? This sucker is tough, I'm not even using the case now. I've noticed that if it takes bumps due to the polycarbonate body this phone doesn't get chewed up like Samsung plastic, it gets worn in a very uniform manner, like a pebble slowly being eaten by the the sea. It will look like some cool ass denim pants in a year or so of heavy usage, me likes

My Lumia 800 fell from a height of 4½ Feet off a shelf in the kitchen at work, hit the tile floor and completely shattered the front glass. Kept it in its rubber cover at all times too :-/ . The replacement I was sent was completely unlocked & unbranded, needless to say I don't leave it lying around anymore..

my 800 dropped a few times from 1-2meters height. Nothing broke but my Gorilla Glas is scratched as hell. Even more scratchy than my old HTC Hero
