wow, we're still arguing here?

maybe the should move this bluetooth argument over to another thread called "Bluetooth Argument"

Yes BT is limited on the Lumia, and yes the lumia is expensive, and yes most phones had this feature in the past, and finally YES if you bought the lumia and really need the BT file transfer then you are most likely unhappy right now and should probably look for a new phone.

And everyone else - dont toss anymore logs into the fire, just let it simmer down :)

my 2 cents:
-I wish the screen res was better (I know is WP 7)
-I wish this had expandable memory (WP issue)
-I would want to be able to switch from "ring" to "vibrate" to "silent" - right now vibrate can only be turned on or off in the menu - no shortcut

Green Tint while taking pictures with lumia 800 in low light conditions(after 12070))

Hey guys.. I've noticed that a greenish tint at the centre appears while taking pictures from my lumia 800. Would like to add that I purchased my phone on 23 march and then i updated to v12070. Any other person noticed this issue..??

Moreover, how do your find camera quality of lumia 800, mine is totally crappy. Do you think I should send it back to Nokia Care. Btw, battery life on my phone is cool. I am a light user and so it gives me 48 hours of battery life. So battery life is good but camera quality is crappy.

I find camera quality to be crappy, especially in evening in indoors conditions. Outside in broad daylight it's acceptable. Quality of video mode is very bad too in such conditions, and for some reason autofocus doesn't work in videomode from time to time (mostly evenings), i have to go to menu, turn it off, than back on, only then it starts working.

Imo may be if camera would be really good in this phone, that could compensate a little for lacking bluetooth (like in Iphone 4s :) )

OK, *my* 2 cents:
- You don't need more than 800x480. I don't need it, so you don't need it either. You had to vote with your wallet and bought iPhone 4s!
- Expandable memory? Ancient tech, not used anymore by vast majority of people, so, useless...!
- Switching profiles? It's obsolete nowadays with modern smartphones... don't buy Windows Phone if you don't like it, vote with your wallet!

Hey, why do you even dare to mention those here? You did not read the phone specs before buy?

Third post on the site and you are already mocking the users? Great way to make friends.

Anyway he said he 'wished' for these things, he didn't name anything as flaws. According to him he'd like if these were better but is happy enough with how the phone is to vote with his wallet and buy it. There's nothing wrong with that.

wow there, what exactly is your problem?
This is the "flaws" post so I believe my comments are in the correct place.

I dont want to start another war as to what resolution "I need" and whether or not expandable memory is current enough.
And you gotta be kidding me about the profile switching - its funny that you mention the iphone since they dedicated a physical button for that very function ( what were they thinking right???) I for one would like to turn on vibrate without clicking through 3 menus.

I like the lumia and just feel it would be better with a few for tweaks. :D

actually, 99.9% of people with android phones actually use the expandable storage. it doesn't matter how long ago it was created, its still a great feature. especially since skydrive is limited and not everybody has data.. not really a deal breaker for me, but saying people don't use it is definitely wrong lol. this is one big reason people wont adapt to wp7 or ios from android, because they buy a 32gb card with tons of music/movies/pictures and have no use unless they use android :p in other words; not useless

I think qHD would be perfect on wp7 or the resolution the n9 has. 480by800 looks horrible on android but it doesn't look bad on wp7 since the main screen has big tiles and what not lol

IIRC, the Apollo update will allow for expandable storage, no?

I have this problem with the microphone. In the last 12h the person who I'm talking with can't hear me (tried with several different persons). Anyone got a solution for this? It is probably a hardware problem, am I right?

Another Lumia Problem

Here's a big problem with the phone (that might not actually be a problem). Can anyone help me?

I need to turn off the auto-rotate on the Lumia 800. I can figure out if there's any options or any apps that do it. If it's impossible, then thats a stupid flaw!

There is a hombrew app that allows that. However you need a dev unlocked device.

I had the same problem with my 3rd Lumia 800. It's a hardware failure.
Get it back to the retailer.

Hi,

I have been using it for almost 2 weeks now and the biggest problem, by far, for me is the Wifi-Sleep policy - within a few minutes (probably just 1 min) of me locking the phone, the wifi goes to sleep and hence, I can't receive push notifications (I use wifi only & have no data plan because mostly everywhere there is wifi).

Is there any way to change the wifi sleep policy to 'never' ? [I have always kept it to never in my iPhone and Android].

Also, I use whatsapp and while using that, if I receive a message, I get a notification on the top that I have received such-and-such message from such-and-such person, but when I open whatsapp, it wouldn't have been reflected - it will actually download the message at that time when you open the chat. I mean, when you have already given me the notification, it means the message has arrived, then why does it have to download it again ?

And, for the wifi sleep policy, if anyone has a work around, please do tell me. Any help would be great.

Cheers :)

Apps can receive notifications on top, and when you tap them, the app will open and navigate to a specific page (in this case your conversation). But, an app cannot run in background, so WP has received the push notification, has showed it, but when you tap it, it's actually the first time the app comes in. Then it has to download the message. I agree, it would have been better if it could access the notifications contents directly...
