Just for polling data, I just tested Local Scout and it found the stuff around me right now. I also tested Xbox Music and was able to do the things I typically do with it (listen to .wma's with album art). AT&T Amber Rom via OTA.

as of now, local scout works for me. It didn't work AT ALL yesterday for me and the others I've spoken to

I have had great success on the latest Rogers rom without many mishaps and don't care that AT&T finally decided to release Gdr2. I compared my wife's updated AT&T stock rom (Gdr2) to my Rogers Gdr2 rom and Rogers wins hands down because of the non carrier boot screen and data sense...the only thing that has finally gotten on my nerves is the lack of internet sharing...I'm frustrated enough to flash to another rom and try to salvage the ability to use that much used feature... I read that the euro french rom allows tethering without a problem and i just have one question...is it possible to flash a rm-821 Euro rom and back to a Rogers (rm-820) if need be?

sharpycl at WPCentral went from French Amber (rm-821) to Rogers Amber (rm-820) according to his post. That is the closest I can find. In the same thread (first post) you will find that the French rom allows free tethering even on plans without tethering as long as you install access point right after flashing, set it to LTE2 and never touch access point again. you can then set up tethering. (it works until you enter access point, which will screw it up and you have to do a hard reset to get it back).

PS: I made the same exact observations between my L920 on Rogers Amber/GDR2 and my wife's L920 on ATT Amber/GDR2.

cheers

Microsoft just announced a Windows Phone Developer Preview program for those that are developer unlocked or if they have Windows Phone App Creator privileges. Later on those will be able to download GDR3 preview essentially. This should be interesting.

thanks D!
update: French rom is fantastic!, unbranded, and has 2 advantantages over the Rogers rom 3047 i used. First, the access point app is already built in! I think you may be able to restore settings from a hard reset because of this (can anyone confirm?) I chose not to sync at start up because I had a text message sync issue that has not been resolved from prior flashing so i cannot confirm this possibility at this time. The second advantage is internet sharing works after the keyboard fix!..confirmed after rebooting several times! I'm a happy user and at this point don't mind that the 4G symbol represents LTE..I think it's a tolerable trade off for what is gained.

next post: side by side LTE speed test with French gdr2 & stock AT&T gdr2 roms

this is fantastic news! I hope that the internet sharing issue is addressed in this build

quick update..this rom works great with all features enabled but looks like there will be compromises.. some of my mostly used apps are no longer working like: Engadget,Best buy,Nbc news, network dashboard and a few others (guess these might be region specific, even though i changed region to U.S.A)...this sucks but I'm updating to GDR3 right now and hope to resolve those issues with this beta update for developers.. if it does I'm going to roll back to the Rogers rom and update that to GDR3 and see if i can have everything working 100% with 0% compromises

I just installed GDR3 on both french and rogers roms...internet sharing is still not fixed on the rogers rom with this update. I would really like to keep this rogers rom since all my apps work with no problems but the internet sharing problem still lingers.. does anyone know where i can get the att dev rom? I'm willing to try that one next to see if its a better fit with the GDR3 update..

update: for anyone looking for a rom with working internet sharing, I have flashed to the newer amber Euro Australian/new Zealand 3049.000.1330.0006 (rm-821) rom with this product code #059Q9N8 and have no desire to return to AT&T rom (other than to maintain warranty for device replacement). This rom is the best I've used so far. It seems to have very minor enhancements like the option in cellular settings to not use mobile data while wi-fi has limited connectivity and an option in Bluetooth (advanced settings) to connect in a different way if your car has problems with speech recognition. Other positive points about this rom is that it: seems to be very stable, all features and all apps I use and test work flawlessly, battery life is comparable to stock ATT rom, lack of branding, Data sense ,FM radio, text msg sync issues I had with other roms work without fail in this one, access point app is already baked into this rom, and one of the most important reasons for flashing to this rom was after the keyboard download and install fix, internet sharing seems to be permanently fixed. I accidently started the access point app again after using internet sharing all day and it still worked without a problem. The only negatives I found is that there is no option for static IP (like Rogers rom) in the wifi settings and the signal icons are represented as H,H+,4G and 4G icon for LTE (data speeds seem to be identical to 3g,4g,LTE speeds though). I can highly recommend the install of this rom, its a keeper for me especially since the GDR3 update gives it more functionality and the ability to restore all settings, apps, etc from a hard reset!

Hey Snickler, hope I'm not thread jacking by referring another rom.. not my intent, just giving an optional internet sharing work around for those who are in need
