that is interesting. I tested speeds between my wife's ATT Amber/GDR2 and my Rogers Amber/GDR2 and although there were only minor differences, the Rogers rom always came out with higher numbers. InterestingHere's a side by side speedtest comparison between stock and Australian rom:
The red N920 on the left has the stock AT&T rom with LTE icons and yellow N920 (aus.3049 rom) on the right has 4G icons, both average about same speeds but noticed after testing in several locations throughout the day that the Australian rom always came back with faster download speeds... I don't think it makes much of a difference but the point is that I have on or about the same average speed before and after flashing to this rom, regardless of 4G icon. got to speeds as high as 35mbps down in some areas (NYC)
interesting indeed, maybe these roms have better radio settings...go figurethat is interesting. I tested speeds between my wife's ATT Amber/GDR2 and my Rogers Amber/GDR2 and although there were only minor differences, the Rogers rom always came out with higher numbers. Interesting![]()
The more likely scenario is that AT&T throttled the connection as they have done with other phones in the past. This is pretty typical from this ****ty company and one of the main reasons I try to buy unbranded devices.interesting indeed, maybe these roms have better radio settings...go figure
Did you get the Australian Rom from here? Which one did you get?

So, I've read through the above posts, and I think snickler answered it, but I want to make sure. Is there ANY way to get back to AT&T after you've flashed a Rogers ROM? The only problem I'm having is Internet Sharing, and especially with GDR3, I'd really like to have it available again...
good luck with that. A number of other people and I tried this without luck. There was no way to go back to ATT stock once you did a single OTA on the pre-portico.if you flash Rogers pre portico rom without the updates to amber you can flash back to Att, anything after the update you cant.
exactly what i said... you can flash a pre portico rogers rom and downgrade from a stock att rom but if you do an update of any kind while in pre portico you will be stuck!!!good luck with that. follow a few pages before and after this post.
I know of only two other folks who reported that it is possible. One of them however stated that you can only go back if you DO NOT do ANY updates after flashing the pre-portico. Once you did you are stuck. Since the purpose of installing the pre-portico was to go to Amber (and Riceboyler wrote that he is on GDR3) that is not a solution. If you you did any OTA on the pre-portico there is no way back. I have contacted the other person who reported success but he never got back to me. The fact that there are plenty of other people who were not able to go back (including Snickler), to me is a good indication that only luck will help you here.
What you will likely find is that you cannot even flash back to pre-portico Rogers. Riceboyler, please report back if it works for you.
yes indeed - smart alec meexactly what i said... you can flash a pre portico rogers rom and downgrade from a stock att rom but if you do an update of any kind while in pre portico you will be stuck!!!
Yep, just tried on mine, and I get a 0x80131500 error, which is basically saying that it doesn't match the ROM on it. Same problem I had trying to use NSU. Looks like I'm stuck with Rogers for now...Has anyone tried using the Nokia recovery tool to flash back to ATT?

I confirm that. I have internet sharing after flashing the official 8.1 ROM. Rogers ROM that isI know this is an old thread, but I flashed my 920 to the 8.1 AT&T/Rogers Developer Device ROM (w/ Cyan), I gave Internet Sharing a quick test and it worked fine... with no keyboard tricks or anything of the sort.
My 920 was originally a AT&T device, flashed it to Dev ROM to get Amber, and since then, Internet Sharing has never worked right, keyboard tricks or not. So I'm not sure if it was 8.1 or Cyan, but something appears to have fixed that.
My 1020 is now my daily driver anyway, but thought I'd point it out.
Now question, are you able to flash back to AT&T 8.1 ROM or are you still stuck on Rogers?I confirm that. I have internet sharing after flashing the official 8.1 ROM. Rogers ROM that is
