Do i have to root and push this, or can I just install the APK as usual? Is it possible to rollback the install after I install this APK?

this is flashable zip file. so you need custom recovery like CWM.
and you'd better to backup your /system/app/PhaseBeam.apk because it looks like not working with some roms...

Nexus 4g here and it works fine.

I've downloaded the 3rd edition and extracted it and just pushed it right into system/app and it works fine
So I imagine that the flashable zip it is in should also work.

Not sure on the installation abort but you can push them to system/media and they work great

oh sorry .. i removed device check from all 3 versions so now it will not cause error on ns4g.

you can easily modify old version of phasebeam by just changing images..
download first version and edit png files in /res/drawable-nodpi/.

damn. im on an unrooted + stock phone. not that i dont want to root, but its just too much trouble to backup everything before the bootloader is unlocked. thanks anyway

Oh and in case you don't want it to look all squished, resize it and drag it down one.
