Huawei MediaPad M3 is actually the only phablet, I have considered buying so far since the announcement of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 64 GB edition, that never got released because of undergoing patent lawsuits regarding the product line. But also, the one year passed since the release makes me hesitant and would rather wait for something more up-to-date with LTE (4G), minimum 64GB storage and a minimum screen size of 7", but less than 9", that can fit in your pocket. Sadly though, there are no non-Apple tablets living up to these standards, so I hope for an M4 release soon in the upcoming year.
I have always considered the tablet hype rather foamy. What would you need a 10+ inch screen for work anyway? Wouldn't you want to buy a laptop or a netbook at least with more powerful hardware and integrated keyboard? They are too difficult and slow to navigate compared to small computers. Even the modern 5.5" screens, although portable and tempting, are not yet there. But I am - apparently - an almost extinct species of the minority, who will not fall for cheesy marketing tricks and only buy things measured in cold hardware specs.
The only good use for tablets is replacement for smartphones, whose screens are too small for entertainment, be it gaming or watching videos, and in these streaming times, GSM is inevitable (Wifi with a portable 4G router would work, but why the hassle?), so wifi only tablets are like a brick, you can throw around, since no amount of microSD cards will satisfy your ever needing requirements for storage space of your illegally downloaded torrent files. And bringing along a decent, external terabyte-harddrive would weigh the same as a standard notebook.
