And like he stated any request or feedback or bug reports postet in different threads in the forum just will be ignored so im trying all my best in order we all to have really working Gcam for all of us and i captured detailed Logcats Images and detailed explain what are the problems and posible fix so will ask you if you want to test a new version or you catch a Bug or anything related to the Arnova Gcam to request post in that Thread with logcat in order he to be able to see it and try to fix it

Just to add one more issue that I faced with V11 that as I can see is the most stable one, shooting with HDR+ enhanced on front facing camera will make app crashes in low but not dark or very low light conditions even without flashlight, while portrait is working fine in same condition as well as rear camera....

I dont recomend it as you can see all the bugs are catched in that thread
For me best for now is V6 Beta 14 but even in this version the force crash in low light is present so we still dont have fully working Gcam.

I cant for the life of me figure out why it doesnt work, i may just install purefusion and see whats up with that.

I just installed purefusion, is this what you mean when it "locks up" or closes or whatever? It'll eventually crash the camera.
edit: this may be more than a media profiles problem. Someone prove to me that on htc 10, with oreo, that slo-mo actually works, then logcat it when it does. It appears than even with the media profiles changes, i did it by hand on purefusion, so-mo just locks. gcam works decent otherwise.

Sorry it took so long, kids sick with the flu, it's coming out one end or the other.
I've been doing some research on the slomo matter. There are more phones than not where slomo doesn't work, even after modifying the media_profiles.xml . Not to mention, I have a .dtd and corresponding media_profiles_v1.0.xml on the essential, in 2 different locations. I'm going to look at the codecs.xml, from my phone, to the htc10, and see if something is different there. The port works perfect on nougat, and not on Oreo, which is blowing my mind....
I converted my phone to Oreo us unlocked...building a deodex base, then hitting gcam and slomo

it has a vendor/etc/media_profile and a media_profile_v1.0 and a media_profile_vendor
that are the SAME thing, which the hell one does it use????
Anyways, i modified all 4, still no dice on the slo-mo, good news is that arnova v6 final seems to work pretty well. @tsalta may disagree, but tis better than nothing at this point.

It also appears that there are a few devices in oreo that cant get it to work either, even using other magisk mods to enable it specifically.

Well @aer0zer0 both camera Crash in low light scenario this mean the App cant be used in low light!
Low Light performance now give a Purple Tint on the whoe photo.
Improve Sharpness doesnt work as well.
So yes half of the app can be used but in this case if you still wana use it better is the beta you know what number becase after all you dont have this purple tint in low light enabling.

of interest: in the build prop, PD and ZSL are disabled. Maybe HTC was messing around and just disabled them? And treble is disabled, so the vendor stuff can be ignored, i believe.
Of more interest: @tsalta i enabled PD and ZSL forcibly in the build prop, i can now use PD and PD blur in portrait mode in zsl mode (didnt it black screen before???). But keep in mind, i believe arnova forcibly added hdr+ portrait in. so it defeats zsl anyways. I cant find a toggle to enable/disable.

The know Bugs - Crash in low light performance.
However if you wana shoot in low light switch to Nexus 6 or 6P
Dont enable Improve Sharpness.

I will try this out. I am getting my HTC 10 next week, I am using Nexus 5x which has the same back camera,
and we use stock gcam with HDR+ feature.
I am interested also shooting 4K video with HTC 10, if I read it right the stock HTC camera allows you to shoot in 4K mode,yeah?
I am wondering how much I will love HTC 10, coming from stock Android 8.1.0. (Nexus 5x)
