[Magisk Rom][T83x] WETA 7.0 [SG4][Sep.11]

@Mentalmuso OK I have tried to install it via Magisk. It rebooted but now I am stuck on the Samsung logo. I tried to hard reboot (I'm assuming that means pressing the power key + volume down key together) and it reboots and sticks at the Samsung logo again. What do I do now please?

PS: After waiting for almost 35 minutes stuck on the Samsung logo, I booted into TWRP and formatted the data partition. Now it rebooted but there is no Magisk, no Viper.

It says

PPPR1.180610.011.T830XXUSBSF3

I re-installed Magisk Manager and checked for root with Root Checker Basic. It's telling me root access is properly installed on this device.

I have no idea what to do at this point. I know I'm probably doing some dumb mistake but can someone help me out please?

Start over. It's the best way to succeed. Samsung devices can be a bit tricky at times.

You are on the wrong firmware, i state in the pinned post in telegram, that you need to match firmwares. SF3 is not compatible with SF4

Flash complete odin SF4 package, then try again

you're welcome. samsung users who flash with odin should always know how to acquire fresh firmware packages and be familiar with sammobile

that cellular south (or whatever it is) package i linked to is the US version... i should mention that if you're in a different country, just go to sammobile and enter your device to find a full list of available firmwares.

Processing failed error

Is it normal to get a processing failed error when trying to sign into Samsung account? Is this because it's a custom Rom?

You need to match firmware,

T835 kernel with T835 device
T830 kernel with T830 device
SG4 kernel with SG4 system with SG4 vendor.

If you are on firmware that doesn't match my kernel then your out of luck and will need to Odin the firmware I use for building the mods and kernel.

It all has to match or Samsung account won't log in

Edit. I am in the process of updating to SG4. If you need to Odin fresh, then use XAR SG4 for the T830 device or XEF SG4 for the T835 device. Just flash AP, don't touch csc or BL

Yes, flashing just AP is fine, and you won't need to wipe data.

1. Flash SG4 AP in Odin (untick reboot option)
2. Flash TWRP in Odin
3. Boot to recovery
4. Flash kernel/encryption disabler
5. Wipe caches
6. Boot up. Make sure OEM unlock is present.
7. Flash WETA Rom module

6.1 = SF4
7.0 =SG4 (T830 XAR and T835 XEF)

You should be fine using the german firmware as it is the same as XEF (france)

Long reboots i dont knwo as i have never experienced them, only in initial boot which is a cache rebuilding issue.
Next post has 7.0

T830 use SG4 (xar) firmware
T835 use SG4 (xef) firmware

Flash Encryption disabler

I am having a lot of trouble trying to get this working. I have the T835 and have downloaded the latest firmware from Sammobile. I am using the UK (BTU) firmware but it has the same PDA and CSC as the France (XEF) firmware, so this should be okay?

I flash TWRP, format data, flash WETA kernel & encryption disabler.

The device boots, and begins the setup wizard, but when I get to setting up Intelligent Scan, it doesn't work. I can skip this step and finish the wizard, but once the device screen is turned off and it locks, there is no way to get back into it. It asks for my pattern to unlock the device, but it says the pattern is incorrect.

Any ideas where I am going wrong?
