Will try everything and report back. However I don't get my hopes up for it.
€DIT::: uninstalled app, wiped caches, reinstalled app, enabled in magisk hide, still detects root.
Their attempt to detect root with native code is somehow better than Safety net. I hope they will realize that root users are simply not as bad as trolls using online banking with virus infected Windows Computers or Android 2.3 and drop their root hatred.

Heya,

Thanks for the great notes! So, I know we're on Magisk v12 now. If I understand correctly, on out Turbo, Magisk will not work unless I have an "original" ROM? I.e., if I wan't to use CM13, Magisk Hide will not be an option, correct?

Thanks

I think it works on all the LOS based roms, but I only use stock so I'm not sure. Check the forum of your favorite rom. I'm sure someone has tried it.

CM13 has root built in, so you'll need to find some way to completely remove that before you will be able to hide anything. Root is an optional, additional package in LOS 14.1.

I'm sorry if this is OT but which banking apps rely on safetynet or unrooted phones? Im running computerfreek latest rom, magisk, and exposed. I also have the latest TD Bank, Wells Fargo, and Citizens Bank apps installed and fully operational. If certain banks prohibit their apps from working on rooted phones then I want to know so I will never open an account with them.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think any bank app will flat out block you if you fail safetynet/get caught being rooted. The issue I was having was with Android Pay style wireless payments that are handled by the bank-specific app instead of Android Pay. Specifically, I have a Capital One credit card. Capital One has two apps: Capital One and Wallet. Capital One does everything you would expect from a credit card app (pay off your balance, see recent activity, etc) and Wallet provides real time notifications whenever I make a purchase and the option to enable and use tap-and-pay. When rooted, both apps still work, but Wallet will no longer allow tap-and-pay. With the latest Magisk, however, tap-and-pay works.

I can confirm that Magisk v11.6 installs and appears to function perfectly on my stock, unrooted, bootloader unlocked MCG24.251-5-5 device. Also, MagiskHide is not enabled by default, so keep this in mind if you're using a work device or any other situation where you might get in trouble for failing safetynet. That's all I know so far.

Go forth and Magisk!!!

Any chance you could post a link to version 11.6? I can't get any other versions to work on the stock rom and I can't manage to track down v11.6.zip anywhere.

Edit: I found a link to a download of it located here

Good luck, but every version that has been released since then worked on my stock turbo. I'm thinking Magisk probably isn't the problem.
