Hey guys...
Last night plugged the phone in, as u do.
Woke up to find the phone pretty damn hot and showing the charging icon on the screen (it seems this is SE's way of charging without loading the full android is now, which could be handy for quick charges.)
Anyway, it would appear the phone had charged right up, then way down again to the point it had died and started charging again.
Gonna use a different charger tonight to see if it makes a difference.
Anyone got any experiences with this happening yet?
On 1.6 this never happened. Worse case scenario was wake up and the battery was hovering around 90% but that's better than waking up to a phone that'd turned off and charging sitting at 25% Battery that's far too hot. If you've ever used your phone as a gps in the car you'll have an idea how hot!
Anyway, thanks guys for any replies.
Cheers

Hey mate,

Thanks for replying :)

I'll maybe leave it a while till people have experiences with the phone on 2.1 rather than post the problem 1 day after release lol.

Thanks again!

My phone was churning for hrs after the update, hot and killing the battery, lagging...

Some people have none of these issues, reasons arent clear, just hang in there - let us know how it is after another 24hrs?

Mine was plugged in and the battery level was going the wrong way and it was pretty damn warm. Plugged in got it to 100%. Still plugged in and using it after about 2 hours it was at 90%. eventually went back to 100% and has staied there since.

Here's what I did with my battery and now it's much better than before the upgrade!
1. I rooted the phone.
2. I charged it fully, to 100%.
3. Using Better Terminal Emulator application, I typed:
su
rm /data/system/batterystats.bin
4. Reboot.
5. Let it fully discharged until it shuts down (NO connection to the PC as it would charge while there).
6. I charged it fully, to 100%.
7. Let it fully discharged until it shuts down.

Now my battery with constant GPRS, for Gmail Push and Gtalk, moderate to heavy usage, lasts for 24-30 hours. :)

Last night I drained the battery down to 10% then recharged it. Battery seems fine now, down to 95% after 3 hours without major use (went to facebook once, twitter once, 2-3 sms). Seems everything is fine (also camera is now working after emptying the picture/video folder in DCIM folder of the SD card)

yey :)

This seems to have worked okay. 18 hours, moderate usage - about as good as 1.6, but nowhere near as bad as the last week

this happened to me the other night. freaked me out cause i was at 7%, plugged it in, and next thing i know i'm at 5% and battery's over 120 degrees F. turned off the phone, took out the battery let everything cool down, started it back up and everything was fine, but i'm rather concerned if this is happening to a handful of people...
