MAJOR Problem transitioning from CM10 to MeanBean V0.4

So I've been using CM10 as a daily driver for quite a while now (at least since they got their first stable release) and I decided to try out the new JB official update, but since I remembered just how much I loved MeanROM with ICS I decided to use the newest MeanBean instead. After going through everything and setting up my device again, I updated my HTC Sync Manager to sync all my music and stuff again (I use this because it works the best and is the most streamlined), but when I went to do it, for some reason it wouldn't recognize my phone or connect, so after checking I saw that some of the drivers failed to install. After finding the drivers from the process it takes to root the EVO I installed and then reinstalled Sync Manager...still nothing. I went into the phone settings and saw that the option "USB Storage" said "unavailable" and found that this must have been the reason why. Is there anyway to fix this?

USB Storage is for a USB drive connected to your phone using a USB OnTheGo wire (new feature). Make sure you select USB File Sharing notification and make sure HTC Sync Manager is selected (it is by default I think). Under My Computer you should see a device called "EVO" (this is MTP).

If you still have problems uninstall everything related to HTC (drivers, sync manager etc.) and restart your computer. Reconnect your phone and go into device manager and uninstall anything says My HTC or Android Phone then unplug your phone and install HTC Sync Manager again. Lastly, plug in your phone and you should be good to go. Make sure you plug your phone in when Sync Mgr. is done or else Windows will install drivers from the net automatically.

I had had it on MTP and somehow it wouldn't connect to HTC sync manager still, I'll try it again tonight.

Another thing I've found today that the headphones won't connect and it only plays through the speaker

Sent from my EVO using xda app-developers app

Just installed Sync Manager and had the same issue. I had to restart my PC after installing Sync Manager and everything connected. Now if I could only tell it where to store my music/pictures (external SD) it'd be a useful app for me.

EDIT: Well I see it does use the external SD but the path it creates is terrible. ext_sd\mobile\D\Media\Music\Artist\Album\Song.mp3
