I have tested and work on my S8500. :good:

Android start, after I put zImage into:
Rsrc_8500_with_charger_template.zip

At address 0x0020 0000

About S8530... This address is correct:
Code:
0x0360 0000

+ 0x0020 0000
= 0x0380 0000 as start address for FOTA zImage...

Wave 2 not tested yet...

As info.
Check last 1024 Byte...
So you will find address little Endian
And 01 for disable MD5 Check... instead 02...

Best Regards and thanx.

Maybe someone else can test it in Wave2, just add boot.img to 0x00200000 ofrsrc1 template from previous post with HEX editor and check

Is there any Samsung specific memory area on Movinand, which impossible to repair by flashing Bada ROM via Multiloader to go back to Bada?

2 GB moviNAND ?

I thought Tigrouzen do this without problems, if I remember correct...

I can only remember in MBR first 512 Byte is something stored...

I will try later to check again... if i have something forgotten...

Sorry no idea yet...

But I think if more users would test and confirm, then easier to find answer...

I can remember... :D

Maybe 1 or 2 more users and then post result if WiFi broken or not...

Thanx in advance.

Best Regards

Unique key is stored in MBR (first 512 Byte) of moviNAND...

Hmmm... you are right.

FOTA is Bootloader related... so not 100 % risk free...
I have no time yet for long time tests... so no idea if sideeffects...

Hmmm... it makes also less sense if we all test different kernel Versions from different Devs..

Hmmm...
In next days I have time to make tests with:
omni-4.4.4-20140815-wave-HOMEMADE.zip

Maybe someone else is faster... ;)

If someone need RC1 with kernel inside from this package:
Code:
omni-4.4.4-20140815-wave-HOMEMADE.zip

"We" could create and upload... for tests at own risk.

Best Regards

Hey

okay i think i find solution how to make another partition size without physical repartition
http://xdaforums.com/nexus-s/general/howto-partitioning-nexus-s-using-lvm-t1656794
using onenand partitions open for us more possibilities:) i will move cache to onenand as it use only in recovery, and not so many r/w operations
and on 2G movinand will be only system partition 600mb and data about 1,4GB
I really don't see any sense to stay 390mb as internal storage for android, because it is really too low for android, and lost sense if you have real SD card

about wi-fi:
it will not be any problems if you flash the same kernel on onenand, which you use with current rom

Problem is, not every user is able to copy and paste zImage to correct position in RC1 with HEX Editor...

I am too lazy to do this for more then 1 kernel and upload...

I could upload RC1 with kernel from this package:
omni-4.4.4-20140815-wave-HOMEMADE.zip

For S8500 and S8530...
Only by request...

Best Regards

@volk204

No idea, if you know that moviNAND of S8500 is bigger then S8530...
Only Samsung Devs use since bada 2 same partitions... so in S8500 90 MB in moviNAND complete unused...

Sorry i am kinda lost right here :D

Can you guys please explain what is the difference between oneNAND and moviNAND ???

If bootloader , apps_compressed.bin , amss , RC1 and RC2 are on oneNAND does that mean that android never used oneNAND until now ?!
Is there any problems in reading/writing from/to for android ?

I read somewhere that oneNAND is faster , is that true ?

Best Regards

we didn't use OneNAND before
I can already write boot.img to OneNAND from android recovery :)

About Wi-Fi:
I confirm with kernel on OneNAND, wi-fi not working, it can't init mmc1, searching solution.

And LVM solution for MoviNAND is working :) i have 590,6 MB - system partition and 1,2 GB - data partition

Hi, I wrote a very small app (~1.3MB) used to generate proper .rc1 file which can be flashed via Multiloader. I made it for myself, but maybe it can be useful for some.
How to use?
You need JRE7 installed and kernel in boot.img format. Copy kernel beside WaveKernelPacker.jar and run. That's all! App will generate two files: S8500.rc1 and S8530.rc1.
You can also type "java -jar WaveKernelPacker.jar" in terminal or cmd.
