This method requires an OTG Cable. DO NOT TRY THIS ON YOUR 3G XOOM!

I just did this myself, so I know it works as long as you are on 3.1 already.

1. Acquire an OTG Cable and a USB Thumb Drive, Copy the 3.2 stock image and rename it as update.zip. Plug the OTG cable into your Xoom with the thumb drive attatched.
2. Reboot your Xoom.
3. Once the dual core screen comes up, tap the volume down button repeatedly until you get menu options.
4. Select Android Recovery and press the volume up button.
5. At green android, hold the power button and tap the volume up button once, release the power button.
6. Select the Apply Update option, and choose the correct file from the USB Drive. Tap the power button to continue.
7. Let it run through the update process, choose reboot once it is complete, and enjoy!

While I can't post a link, the 3.2 stock image file can be found on Droid-Life. Be sure to use the signed update image and not one that was pulled from a device for this process.

While it worked fine for me, you are responsible for your own device. I am not.

I couldn't wait any more, so I just did a bunch of investigation into updating it manually being I had gotten the OTA file from Droid-Life. It works like a charm, everything recognizes the SD card, and the zoom feature is beautiful.

This method works perfectly. I did this 2 days ago to my wifi xoom and I must say 3.2 is far better than it's predicessor by far and I would recommend it to anyone with a wifi xoom. I did use a USB stick though with the otg cable.

Sent from my Xoom using XDA Premium App

What app did you use to test the zoom function?

I used Field Runners HD installed off of Amazon App Store. It was a game meant for a phone that the tablet had stretched before, but it wound up screwing with a lot of the formatting in game. This time when I opened it, at the bottom near the notifications there was an option to either stretch or zoom. I choose zoom, it shut down the app, when I restarted it, it switched it from stretch to zoom and the formatting was perfect.

There is no zoom button when I play field runner HD.

For me it looks like for arrows pointing outward right next to the time. Touching it brings up the options. You're System About reads as 3.2 after upgrading?

you don't need to rename it to update.zip

the below worked fine for me

http://android.clients.google.com/p...igned-tervigon-HTJ85B-from-HMJ37.db223b6e.zip

put on usb drive (you don't actually need to rename to update.zip)
plug in usb drive to otg (usb host) and into xoom
power on, but tap vol down at motorola screen
power up to select recovery
at Android (andy) with !, hold power tap vol up
Vol down to select 'apply update from USB drive'
press power
wait till finished and reboot

i have the UK version too and it's brand new, just received it yesterday and after powering it up it updated to 3.1 and the memory slot is now working

is there a specific 3.2 OTA for UK versions? or we could use the above update?

thanks

you have to be really careful across regions with the XOOM firmware versioning. You have functionality and bugfixs in your 3.1 that NA Xooms didn't have til 3.2. Unfortunately no one taught Googorola proper basic versioning practices
