Thank you guys for your tips. I have been testing both Paranoid and Tytungs Sd roms. Think will stick with Tytungs for now as I always like being very close to the stock roms and Paranoid is a bit over-decorated for my liking. This is especially so because I have gone easy with the rom flashing these days. I am still running my Note with stock ICs which is good enough for the beast thus will be keeping an eye on the forums for nice things to enhance the HD2. My Hd2 is more of a WP7 (Tango) phone now but I cant resist the allure of dual boot.

And of course ACA is sitting pretty in the same SD card proudly anouncing itself as "Android" while the newer babies call themselves "ICS"....... ;)

Then you should try CleaNote ROM 2.20 ~ Full stock ~ Full root ~ Speedmod ~ Smooth

Hello all. Reinstalled this build after a long absence and noticed something amazing - when using the bundled wi-fi tether application it appears to report as being in infrastructure mode rather than ad-hoc. Did i miss a meeting? How long has the hd2 been able to do this? It means all my devices can tether up, not just rooted ones with new wpa_supplicant. Even my DSi has an easier time of it. I know it's not the most dignified retirement, but my hd2 is now taped to the window and serving up internet to the house. Splendid.

Anyway, point is - is this something to do with this rom, or the wireless tether app? Many thanks.

With the latest march release the problem with the sound after disconnection of BT headset reappeared. The audio output can not not switch back to the phone unless the OS rebooted. Have searched the entire thread (tough). No solution still (several people's asked for the same but were ignored)? Perhaps there is an app which might help to switch sound back to the phone outputs? Any tips will be highly appreciated.

Hey guys, I have one problem with this build. Sometimes, the phone freezes completely. This means: Black screen that cannot be turned on anymore. Even the LEDs behind the hard buttons won't light up after pressing them. Only solution is to pull out the battery and put it back in. Most of the time, this happens after several days of non-stop use (10 days and more). But once, it happend some minutes after a fresh boot. I cannot reproduce it and I don't know what the problem is. Other than that everything works perfectly.

Does anyone know this problem? Any solutions for this?

Can't imagine Warren and Copes are reading this anymore but as a matter of interest, given the BT HID files for this do work for a keyboard. What, what if you could let me know how to isolate them so I can push them across to any ICS/JB build, just to see if that solved the non working problem with Android 4.x.
Samsung seemed to have solved it, so it must be one or two little files somewhere....

Hi Willy89, have a look here. Fixes all incompatibility issues for me.

I've come up with another problem, maybe someone can help me: I changed my provider (from o2 to T-Mobile (Germany)) and since I swapped my SIMs, my battery is eaten unbelievably fast. My normal battery drain when screen is off is about 8-10 mA. I can observe the same battery drain now but additionally, I find a lot of spikes with 50-120 mA (screen off!). And with a lot of spikes I mean they occur every other minute. The Android battery usage tool is no real helper, as always. So to me it seems like some app suddenly uses masses of battery but I don't know which, and since I didn't change anything except the SIM, it is quite the riddle to me. I already removed the /data/system/batterystats.bin, shut down, remove battery, and booted again but this brought no improvement.

What is also a bit peculiar, is that when I switch off my mobile networks and switch them on again, so that I have to enter my PIN (same after reboot), I get a pop-up that says "Your Number: XXXX-XXXXXXXX" with the options "OK" and "Cancel". I didn't get that with my previous SIM.

01.03.12 - Update
-cm code updates from dec 20 to jan 03
Installation & Updating:
Installation & Updating Proceedure is the same!:
Download the build to your pc.

1. americanandroid.7z -> unzip!
2. copy folder unzipped\AmeriCanAndroid\Android -> to -> \sdcard\Android
(COPY THE WHOLE FOLDER.. NOT JUST INDIVIDUAL FILES!!!!!!)
(!If you are UPDATING.. choose overwrite when prompted - no need to delete anything!)
3. in winmo, run clrcad.exe and haret.exe in the \storage card\Android\ folder. OR
(alternatively install exceller bootloader for winmo for one click or AUTO launch of Android OS)

first boot always takes a long time be patient, it will work, and future boots do not take as long.

bkup2sdext users read below
- To enable backup of apps and data to your sd-ext partition edit /system/build.prop change
@ the bottom aca.bkup2sdext.enable to =1 (change back to 0 to disable)
*to enable restore of /data/data edit /system/etc/shutdown.d/02shutdown and add data after
for i in app app-private so you end up with
for i in app app-private data;
save, then reboot.

-!! During day to day use; it is MOST important to SHUTDOWN and not pull batt,
as this is when your data gets backed up to the sd-ext partition.. !!

- Your device will auto restart after about 5 to 10 minutes from when android starts loading.
This shut down is required to complete the restore of existing data to a new build.

- added data to bkup2sd so now all user data and app settings are saved to sd-ext ;) (partitioned sdcard users)
- added solution to my senario 4. now uninstalling an app normally uninstalls it from sd-ext partition on device shutdown. ;) so try not to pull your battry if you just uninstalled some stuff, otherwise it will be back when you reboot as the device didnt go though a proper shutdown.
- adjusted the timer on the data reconnection from 3 to 4 seconds. hopefully wont be short enough to not get annoying, but long enough to let the connection completely die before rebuilding it. (blah blah geek speak.... i am playing with data... you probably wont even notice anything!)
2/21/11:
- (partitioned sdcard users only)
NEW app & dalvik-cache auto backup to sd-ext (early stages EXTREMELY
promising !! - this replaces app2sdext feature introduced in feb 11 build.)
if you lose your data.img or format your fat32 partition or upgrade your build. (will work for this build # and moving forward)
all your apps and their program files, all data from your dalvik-cache, is all restored on first boot. (first boot will take some time) this restores the speed of prior to aps2sdext, but now works for us instead of against us
- Fixed Voice Capability
- Docent has updated is swap partition feature (partitioned users only)
- New kernel. WarrenB r2.21
- UTF8 & tun working again.

- we both recommend installing setCPU to extend battery life. (we do NOT recommend changing ANY settings at all. Set to interactive and walk away.)
- thats all i can think of for now.

-ppp fixes (warren) compiled from source (cope) to bring you the best SD PPP build to date for the HD2.
-building process refined ten fold. much cleaner.
-apps2sdext* added. only effects users with a partitioned sd card.
*your apps can essentially survive fat32 partition corruption & format /(and or) data.img loss) makes for updating builds a DREEEEAM!.
Users w/o partitioned sdcards dont worry just proceed as you always have.
-all other features carry over from WarrenBread and Cope's SD builds.
working:
gps, bt (no AVRCP yet), wifi, data 2G(with reconnect after call as it should be), data 3G(no dropped data on call or end call), camera & video camera.
