LG UP won't work to flash it because it's not coded to support AT&T models (same reason that you hardly ever see tots for AT&T phones - I have no idea why they're against users flashing factory firmware to their own devices, but they are....). I'm sure someone could make the necessary edits though - it's probably just the .dlls. And hopefully it helps a bit on the development side of things.

Anyways, have at it!!!

So how do you recommend flashing that on v10s that already have 6.0?

Would this work for phones that already have 6.0 installed? Because if not, that sucks. :(

And also, how did you obtain this TOT? Curious.

They are gotten when they are gotten really. Theres no specific way to obtain them. Either a random person makes one or its leaked.

Just did a bit of research, I am on Marshmallow 20j atm, and I checked the Anti TOT Rollback version. The TOT here is the same version as the version on my phone. So this is basically safe to flash, so if someone can just modify it to be a rooted system... damn we would all have root again! We also need the .dll :D

You shouldn't need a dll. The dll from flashing the other firmware should work just fine with 20j :)

If that is true, then I will need to contact our dear friend Mr. Tungkick777 again, as he is the only one I know of making root for TOTs. :)

When it comes to dll files it should only need 1 per model. Like on my G2. Same dll will flash jelly bean, kitkat, LP, and MM

Only way to know is to load it up in LGUP and attempt to flash. Only reason the dll is there for is for LGUP to detect the phone.

Oh, then yeah. My LG-UP Recognizes my phone on 6.0. I don't think i should try and flash this TOT though yet, I know someone else would rather test it FIRST. But... I am fairly curious...

No one try this until i extract and review the contents or u could brick ur device no disrespect to the op but i already bricked my device once from following someones instructions thankfully i was able to send i in and lg replaced the paper weight for free

---------- Post added at 03:31 AM ---------- Previous post was at 03:19 AM ----------

the ops thank meter is pretty high so I'm guessing this is legit, if so thanks a billion

---------- Post added at 04:28 AM ---------- Previous post was at 03:31 AM ----------

extracting tot then to the system cross your fingers we may have a rooted att lg v10 by tomorrow

---------- Post added at 04:53 AM ---------- Previous post was at 04:28 AM ----------

i extracted the contains of the tot the build.prop is completely blank idk nothing in any folders cept app, and appears no odex files in some folders, this is one of them things we need a person brave enough to test it

---------- Post added at 04:59 AM ---------- Previous post was at 04:53 AM ----------

note im using WindowsLGFirmwareExtract-1.2.5.0-Release to extract tot it may be out dated and the tot may be complied with something new anyways im not testing this and i am not going to give bad advise i mean with the op having such a high thanks meter im sure legit again im not going to disrespect the op in anyway, it could be working tot or not

Yeah, not sure why you were using that program to extract it lol........ Something like 7zip is fine - you'll get all the imgs.

As far as for where the tot came from, all the partitions were pulled directly from an H900 running the official update.

As far as flashing, UP wouldn't recognize my phone - I was assuming it was the dll. YMMV, and you flash at your own risk

Thanks for confirming, I also felt stupid haha

In 7zip, the userdata fails to extract...?

I have a special dll that will work if you need it, and the program i have works fine with other tots like the stock firmware tot the att900-00-10 tot and works on the rooth900 tot just fine, so assuming this was no different i attempted to extract the tot the same way i use that very same app to deodex my roms and KDZ's, tar -xf is a good command to extract numerous achieves

This would be so much easier to do if I was on my desktop at home, and not on a small compact laptop in the middle of Mexico on vacation haha

I would like you to flash it to see if it works. Recovery and boot seems perfectly fine, so if anything goes wrong I assume that you still might have download mode. I can provide you with another .dll. It should work fine

Ok, because I couldn't review the .aboot.img of the 6.0 one, and it wouldnt open, I tried opening it in a hex editor... and this seems weird. The aboot from the 5.1.1 TOT looks completely different from the 6.0 one at the very end... not to mention this isnt actually the very end on the one on the left, this is just the end of characters. The rest is just empty zeros... what?
