Just curious, anyone got adoptable storage working (i.e. adopting SD card as internal storage)? This is supposed to be part of M, but I haven't seen anyone w/ a G4 capable of doing so yet.

I'm curious as well.. I have a fairly fast SD card (95/90MB seq read/write) that I want to pair with the G4 as adoptable storage. Looking forward to being able to test it out once the OTA lands.

Just FYI, LG pushed Marshmallow to G4s in Korea via LG Bridge utility (not OTA). None of the G4s my friends have are able to mount an SD card as internal storage currently. That's why I fielded the question. Hopefully someone here knows something I don't because the other alternative is that LG officially pushed out a stripped down version of M.

Thanks for the info. I wonder if anyone in Poland or with access to the Polish version of M for the G4 could confirm whether or not they can mount an SD card as internal.

Hey there.. I'm able to use my SD Card with no issues .. I just removed the SD card before upgrading using the LG Bridge... :) .. I think this is not a full version of M because I don't see the standard "Doze Mode" feature.. Hmmmmm..

The biggest new feature I have noticed is my battery drains much faster :(

I have it and this option is not avalible. Maybe in next release of 6.0 for G4
How ironic given that the G4 is one of the very few high-end phones on the market that could make use of the feature.. it's also one of the key features of 6.0 over Lollipop - why bother rolling out 6 if you exclude key features?

I hope they will add support for adoptable storage before they release to a broader audience. Thanks for the info.

Why is everyone getting amped up over a feature that is clearly intended for low end devices? For example phones/tablets with 8 gb of storage. If MM had this for all phones, it would slow them way down, even with the fastest SD card available. With a low end device trading some performance for actually being able to download and store apps is an acceptable trade-off. For our flagship phone it's pointless and any benefit at all is quickly wiped out by the performance hit. Hence no adaptable storage. Make sense?

I came to the same conclusion after reading more about it. It doesn't make sense on a high-end device, it's definitely meant for low-end devices.

I'm more interested in whether it's possible format a sd card with ext4 now instead of exfat. I heard that would be in MM?
If you elect to add your sd card as adoptable storage, the sd card will be formatted as ext4. I don't think it will let you do that without choosing to 'adopt' the sd card though.

i just want to know how is the battery life on LG G4 with marshmallow, because my complain for LG G4 only the battery life. Compare to galaxy note 5, nexus 6p and other flagship brand LG G4 battery life is terrible.

Guys, Doze isn't a setting, it's baked in to the OS, meaning there's no way to turn it on or off. I highly doubt it's not there in this build but to notice it, you'll need to leave your phone completely still, screen off and not touch it for a good while. It's the kind of thing you'll only notice if you don't charge your phone over night.

Re. SD card conversion, the speed question raised above is an important one as it WOULD slow down your device, but more importantly, by converting your SD Card into your internal storage, you'll completely lose your current internal storage. You can't write to both, it doesn't create one huge internal storage partition. In the case of the G4, you've essentially lost ~28GBs of space in doing that, so I'm not surprised they stripped it out. It really is designed for budget handsets.

It is there, and is enabled for all apps by default.

To turn it off for individual apps (although, not sure why you would want to) you go to:

Settings > Battery > Battery Usage > "Ignore Optimisations"

Looking through the system dump for the LG QuickRemote app, but not seeing it. Was there a different IR remote app included?

I am trying to find 6.0 based G4 version to test on G2 6.0 ROMs...
