white theme

I don't like dark themes and I want to use light coloured themes. For example I want to use white settings menu, white status bar etc.. Is this possible ? I have used white Touchwiz theme from xda but It didn't worked. I also searched some forums but I can't find any solution ?

The "touchwiz theme" in this forum is not really a touchwiz theme to make your xoom look like a gtab10, it just takes a few icons from it. You won't get the white settings menu it shows in the first post. If you look in the 2nd or 3rd post of that thread you'll see screenshots.

As for a light coloured theme, it might be possible to create, but will require a lot of image editing, as well as xml editing to change all the text colours. Honestly, that's not something I have time for, especially if I'm never going to use a theme like that.

Just out of curiosity, why do you want a light theme? Darker themes are better for battery life since most of your device's power gets used by the display.

Yes, I have noticed screenshots later :). However I like the icons you have used.

Is there any guide to do this ( xml editing, image editing) ? I have some time and I want to try that.

I have HTC HD2 and I'm using MIUI rom. I'm also using light themes on my phone. I know dark themes is good for battery life but I am enjoying lighter wallpapers and menus. It is eyecandy for me. :)

Thanks for your attention

Ok everyone, I've just updated the theme:
  • Changed colour of clock font on navigation bar to grey to match the back / home / option buttons.
  • Put the standard honeycomb clock font back, but "solidified" it so as not to have the partially transparent two-toned effect. The Arial font was annoying after a while, especially the cut-off part on the lockscreen.
  • Changed the browser images for inactive tabs, to remove the blue glow.
  • Changed the solid grey background of the clock area of the quick settings menu popup to a subtle black/grey striped background, to restore the original feel, but without the blue glow.
  • Put a grey outline back on the quick settings popup.
That's it for now. I've been trying to remove the blue glow from the centre of the screen to add widgets to the homescreens, but I can't locate the correct png file. One day I'll figure it out.

Nice! A pity that you had to take away the Arial font because of the lockscreen clipping. Hopefully you'll fix it one day. At least the lockscreen is no more an eyesore lol.

If you liked the Arial font, I can make a mod pack for the theme, that will give you the Arial fonts back. It would be easy to do.

edit: I've made a separate CWM file to change the clock fonts to Arial. It's in the first post.

Looks we have another update 2.2.2...
Ok. I just got home, it's 1:15am, and I'm going to bed. I'll install it tomorrow and update my theme for 2.2.2 sometime in the early afternoon :)

EDIT: Looks like I lied just a little. I never went to bed. Instead, I installed 2.2.2 on my Xoom, and updated the theme. Links are on the first page. Hit the "Thanks" button on the first post if you like/download the theme.
