Well, yesterday I was playing with a P20 pro, and I had my earphones with me, so guess what I did first thing? (well after playing with the camera and the notch setting)

Connected my BT earphones and music sounded good, no distortion or whatsoever, but when diving in to the developer options menu, I saw again that the default codec was SBC, AAC won't work, so slowly I accepted that Huawei is one of the few manufacturers that doesn't support AAC Bluetooth codec on their flagships.

And with the focus on HWA, I doubt Huawei will add AAC anymore.

So for my next headphone I'll make sure it supports aptx HD or ldac at least.

Hello guys,

Anyone who tried LDAC? I am planning to buy Sony MDR-1000x but I'm hesitant because of this issue. I have mate 10 pro. thanks
Hi, i've got sony mdr 1000x and i haven't found any problem. The SBC codec is very bad and play very poor audio with a sort of crackling but the LDAC codec hasn't got any problem.
Sorry for my English but i'm from Italy..

No worries. Thank you so much. Ordering now the same MDR 1000x. Will get it later :D I will post the output. I'm not an audiophile but as long as no cracking noise, I will be more than happy :D

i am trying my friend's MDR 1000x. i tried both SBC and LDAC. Now I can't go back to LDAC. Help please :(

Edit:
Fixed now: http://helpguide.sony.net/mdr/1000x/v1/en/contents/TP0001176179.html

I changed it to Sound quality mode and it allows me to change to LDAC again. Solved

So with almost all hope of Huawei fixing the problem gone, I have a relatively annoying but effective solution, You need to change the codec from default to SBC WHILE the musicis playing, and the quality increases to normal UNTIL you pause the music (Next/Previous doesn't affect it, only pausing) then it goes back to normal and you have to set it to SBC after playomg the media again

Impossible to stream AAC on my Bose QC 35 II.. Developer mode can't be able to switch in AAC.. Stuck in SBC while streaming... Contact Huawei by Facebook.. Waiting for something...mate 10 pro...

I think you are asking for mate 10 pro and i think someone was writing that is much better. For people with mate 10 i can report that update .135 will repair sbc. You will see that is not selected default but SBC in codec settings. Now i can finally using BT audio :)
Hi everyone, with the new update 142 has been this problem solved? I mean the sbc poor quality.
Thank you!
