Maximum number of devices that bluetooth 5.0 can pair with at one time?

Is there a maximum amount of devices which the device can pair with at once? I ask because searching on the web led to very widely different answers. Some answers said unlimited so long as you have enough bandwidth and space to sync. Others I read said that you can only sync with 2.

I tried looking at bluetooth.org and couldn't find anything definitive.

If anyone has any resources, I'd be really grateful if you'd post them.

Thank you for the information but where did you get that from? I haven't been able to find anywhere that is sanctioned by bluetooth.org that says anything about specifics about using bluetooth with devices.
