As with DP1, had to use the Pixel 7 Pro boot image to root DP2. Interestingly, after rooting (using Canary 25206) the Magisk app thinks I'm not rooted (Installed N/A). Because of this, I have no access to Superuser or Modules tabs. I am, however, indeed rooted as I am getting superuser permissions for the apps and mods that were already granted permission.

Does anyone else experience a similar observation shile using the same or different Magisk version?
this happened to me on a different device when the kernel version was too old for magisk

These have just now been added to the "Other known issues" section of:

Other known issues

Based on our testing, you might encounter the following issues when using Android 14 Developer Preview 2. These issues are already known, so there's no need to file additional reports for similar issues.

Android platform

  • An issue with the Credential Manager platform APIs causes instability in apps that use them. A fix is available in the latest preview version of the Android 14 SDK, which developers can install using Android Studio.
  • After entering and exiting picture-in-picture (PiP) mode, an issue with the system UI causes the screen to flicker when any apps are launched.
  • An issue with the system UI sometimes causes the screen to flicker when a video is playing in picture-in-picture mode.
  • In some cases, video continues playing in the background even after closing an app if the video was playing in picture-in-picture mode when it was closed.
  • A video that is playing in picture-in-picture mode stops playing abruptly if the back gesture is used within the PiP settings screens.

Apps

  • When using a device with a work profile, the Google Play Store app in the work profile hangs or crashes when launched.
  • A blank screen displays after selecting the "Message" option for a recent caller in the Google Phone app.
  • After taking pictures with the Google Camera app, opening the latest picture from the thumbnail in the app briefly displays a green-colored shade over the image.

Previously, that section said:

Based on our testing, you might encounter the following issues when using Android 14 Developer Preview 2. These issues are already known, so there's no need to file additional reports for similar issues.

Android Studio and tools

  • An issue with Android Studio causes a SecurityException to be thrown when attempting to run your app or apply incremental changes any time other than the first time. To work around this issue, fully uninstall your app and then reinstall it on the test device before running your app again. A fix for this issue is in included in Android Studio Giraffe | 2022.3.1 Canary 4 or higher.

Visual media selection

  • When your app requests visual media permissions, if the user grants partial access to their visual media library (Photos/Videos) then later denies this access, your app might freeze, flicker, or stop asking for the permission.
  • If your app uses a custom visual media picker and the user chooses to grant partial access to their visual media library, your app's picker might not immediately show the items that the user selected.

Another new addition to:
Developers who previously installed a preview version of the Android 14 SDK should completely uninstall the previous version and then reinstall the SDK to apply the fix.

The cause of why Magisk canary 25210 is not able to root the A14 DP2 has been found and the commit has been merged. A Magisk test build has been provided by someone of which said to be able to get the A14 DP2 be rooted, I didn't try it but rather waiting for the official canary 25211. Normally a situation like this, topjohnwu would release the new build to fix the problem pretty soon but not this time. It does look like that the issue is not so simple as first encountered, hopefully we can see a new build over the weekend and would really be appreciated if anyone has related information that can be shared.

Aignes Website-Watcher is telling me this (bolded) part at the end is new in the "Which devices are eligible?" FAQ at:
Devices must be on a non-Developer Preview public stable build to enroll in the beta program.

Can confirm that with Canary Magisk 25211 patching the Pixel 6 Pro boot image to obtain root now works. Didn't need to use the Pixel 7 Pro boot image.

EDIT: Systemless Hosts not working due to a typo it appears. One of the Magisk devs has confirmed the typo.
