I tried stock 5.1, cyanaogenmod 6.0 and both times phones heats like crazy and battery life is atrocious. I was glad to roll back to KK even though a few apps are missing from app store. I use web apps linked with chrome to my home screen.
Motorola really screwed up with 5.1 and released a buggy mess. They could have fixed their mistake by releasing a decent MM build but they abandoned the device prematurely and the developers couldn't do much with the code they left. They tried but most have issues relating to 5.1.
