Hello,
I have a MCTB headunit running on latest Malaysk fimware.
Recently I noticed that when changing audio source from radio to music, video or navigation I have only heavy cracking sound. A few reboots usually helped to revert it to normal.
When starting my car for the first time in the morning in most cases only the sound from radio is normal.
This weekend i made a fresh clean install of the firmware (two times!) but the problem persists.
So I decided to upgrade MCU image from MTCB-KLD2-V2.77 to V2.81. At first it looks like the problem was solved, but when I started my car today morning, the same thing happened. After a reboot it worked normally, but I don't know what will happen when I will start the car to go home.

Is there any similar experience with such a problem?
Maybe I should use another MCU file. Which one?
Any help is appreciated.

Hi,

Actually i have a neighbor that has a Witson branding of a KLD and has something very similar. That is when the device is cold the radio doesn`t work, making very strange noises. After it worms up a bit it starting to work well. This is a hardware issue, there is no software fix. You could just try to open it and look for bad shielding or bad insulation that can go away in certain conditions (like getting warmer).
Also you can try a MTCC MCU. I have a MTCB KLD 6 and had issues with Bluetooth not working well in the same time with WiFi. The solution was to flash a very new MTCC MCu (something like 2.98 or 2.96). After flashing this the radio was not working at all but tried multiple types available in the service menu and found a combination that works. Also the WIFi/Bluetooth issues were gone.... What i`m trying to say is that that new MTCC MCU is very different and might have a fix for your problem.

Hm... I didn't find the correlation between the temperature and cracking noise, but will pay attention to it, if the problem persists. Thanks for advice.
Yesterday I flashed MTCC_KLD9_V2.98 MCU image and had the symptoms just like you said. After I found the combination that works and the car stayed over night, HU worked well in the morning...

1) Is all MCU's the same or not?
2) Can you flash a JY MTCB MCU on a JY MTCD unit?
3) Can you flash a HA MTCE MCU on a JY MTCD unit?
4) Where exactly can I find the latest MCU for a JY MTCD unit?

Its quite clear - MCUs are not the same, you flash the MCU for your unit (JY for JY, HA for HA etc), you can try flashing a different MCU but you need to read the "Verified Cross Compatible MCU" thread first.

There are a variety of MCU and update threads with MCU in to download.

It doesnt matter whether you have RK3188/PX3 or RK3368/PX5 the MCUs are the same, ie JY RK3188 and JY RK368 both use the same JY MCU, this maybe where you are getting confused.

It would have been much easier if it was all contained in one thread especially if it showed the latest MCU for each manufacturer and which MCUs are compatible with each other, like e.g. JY - 2.62 / HA - 2.71.

I agree but you cant stop people opening multiple threads about the same thing unfortunately, there IS a thread showing which MCUs are cross compatible, its called the "Cross Compatible MCU thread".

Settings/about device will tell you the MCU version.

Theres no such thing as an "RK3066 MCU" - MCUs are the same for ALL processor types.

If "MTCD" or "MTCE" does not appear in your MCU field then you dont have an MTCD/E unit.

I can not eject a DVD that has gotten stuck inside.
Do you think the problem is software?
If it is software do you think I have to try to update the operating system?

You can check that the ribbon connector hasnt come out, but it sounds like the DVD drive is broken.

Thank you for your reply. It's a track. So my problem can not be a software problem? This is probably a material problem?
The DVD playback works very well, it is the CD that no longer ejects.

You may be able to repair the eject function, but its mechanical, so youd need to remove the drive and try and repair it.
