Yes, its almost always best to have the latest updates, but not sure it will sort out your drive.
Thanks for your help.
One last question, to update just download the MCU
corresponding to the version? So I have to take the one for KGL 3?
I put it on an external support and I install it on top?

Yes, use the "export" function in factory settings to back up your settings first.

You do not have an MTCD/E unit - it would say "MTCD" or "MTCE" before the number if you did. Try the Android Headunit General forum.

What sort of error ?

How are you trying to update ?

Have you tried a different usb or sdcard ? - sdcards have to formatted in FAT32.

In recovery the flashing process just says error occurred and flashing failed. Ive tried multiple different SD cards in FAT32 as well as USB flash drive. I don't know why it won't flash....

I will give that a try.

I just noticed that this is under MTCB software development. I have a MTCD. Does that matter?
Of course it matters, youre using entirely the wrong MCU ! Its the cause of your problem.

If you have an MTCD unit why the hell would you even try flashing an MTCB MCU ? !

Hey man I'm just learning about these Android head units. It doesn't say anywhere in the OP that these MCUs that it's only for MTCB. Google took me straight to this thread. I noticed that it's in the MTCB section after the fact..

It does - it says "MTCB" and you knew yours was "MTCD" so its clearly different, you were lucky, you could have bricked your unit, in future pay close attention.

No it does not!!! Is says MCU for RK3066 and RK3188. Which mine is RK3188!! Thus my confusion. Like I said I'm learning. I get I messed up but it does not say for MTCB devices ONLY!

Yes you are right it doesn't say MTCB but this thread is in the MTCB software development so this is what typos1 means.. anyway here is the link for MTCD.
Exactly @pcmender2005 - right next "MCU List" it says "MTCB" !!

I appreciate youre just starting to learn about these device @felibon, but this point is about basic observation skills, not Android head units !

Anyway, lesson learned, make sure you pay full attention in future or you may break something ! :)
