Have to say, with all the grief I'm getting from Mekede & Aliexpress I'm on the verge of returning my entire order. I would much rather not because it's a damn good unit, but Mekede as a company seem to be a right cowboy operation. One thing's for sure, I won't be using AE again, they're impossible to get in touch with, always side with the seller in disputes & their dispute resolution process is a nightmare. Mekede didn't include the HDMI Output adapter in my order (which I paid for), that's my first dispute. The second is that I had to factory reset the unit & can no longer access the HDMI Input because the app to access it is no longer there. It's not on their website, I've asked them for it a dozen times & only once have they said they'll send it through. I'm still waiting. Then there's the third dispute about it being Android 10 not 12, but I'm only using that to keep the main item in dispute because AE treats every individual item separately. If I can't get the HDMI input working again, there's no point in the 2k screen if I have to use RCA input, so I'd return it and get a cheaper option. Mekede have blatantly lied & provided false evidence to Aliexpress to try & win the dispute, I'll never use them again.

If I had a dollar.

Did you not know when you purchased that it was fake Android 12?
I think anyone who knows this and purchases with the hope of getting a rebate/discount can't complain if they are ruled against by AliExpress.
I knew my Mekede had fake Android 11 but I bought anyway with the intention to ask aliexpress for a discount but not be bothered if it failed.

The HDMI input app, is it even an app? Could it just be a setting or config that got wiped? Or do you know the name of the app?
The solution to that will come in time when others have the feature. So far you're the only 1 I know that has it.

The missing dongle they should just send you as a resolution.

Returning is always at your expense.
It can be VERY expensive to return ship something large like a head unit to China (at least from here in the UK).
So expensive it would almost certainly cost more than the savings of buying the non 2k equivalent.

No, I did not know it was fake Android 12, and I am not trying to get a rebate / discount. I'm trying to get the software to access the HDMI INPUT which was wiped after a factory reset. If you actually read what I said, I have only opened the Fake Android dispute to keep the main item under dispute in Aliexpress's useless system because the HDMI INPUT is classed as a separate item.

As for the input app, yes it is an app as far as I know, one that Mekede have now said they will send through twice yet I'm still waiting. Onscreen, it is just called HDMI1. Others who use the 360 cam have also had the same problem, they lost the software to access the cam after a factory reset & Mekede are absolutely useless when it comes to support.

The missing dongle, I would be happy if they sent it or refunded it. They will do neither. They claimed the sent it & refuse to refund. I filmed the unboxing and have sent that as proof. Mekede provided a video of an order being packed (not mine) and a shipping label dated yesterday - aliexpress today sided with Mekede, so the dispute is still ongoing.

I don't really want to return the unit, as I said it's a great item, but it's not working as intended, Mekede & AE support are useless & I'm just fed up of the constant daily back & forth between them where they ignore everything I say. It's seriously as though they have a "cheat sheet" for English. I couldn't give a toss about the fake android, but I do want the item I didn't receive refunded & I want the HDMI input working. That's why I'm here, I'm hoping someone else has the HDMI Input & can help by creating an APK of the app for me.

I don't think it is relevant to know in advance. If they say it is Android 12 and it isn't, it's wrong by them. They can really change it with a new Android version on new units, that is different than Android version on the units sold before. We can't judge that on previous experience (although we might know better).
If they say it has HDMI instead of 360cam, you als have to trust the advertisement. And if it is wrong, the reseller is wrong.
If they say that the M6pro has a 2000x1200 screen, and you get a 1280x720, because others have it as well, the reseller is wrong.

You order based on what they advertise, not on experience on previous models or previous buyers.
That we know better in practice and that is is different in practice, is not relevant. Legally the reseller is wrong.

Initially, I watched a Youtube video about the unit that mentioned all the features and I was sold on the unit specifically for the HDMI input combined with the 2k screen. I had never used Aliexpress before, so this was my first order, and I admit it is my fault that I missed the fact that the HDMI INPUT is an optional extra. I also missed that it didn't include a standard ISO connector, I had to get one after the unit arrived. I initially ordered the M6 Pro Plus along with the front & rear dashcam, the RCA output and the HDMI Output. I was then googling around on the unit when I came across people asking why their unit didn't have the HDMI Input when they received it, and that's when I found out it's optional. I went back to the listing on AE and found the bit about the input, but the link on there takes you to the output instead, so there is no way to order the input from the main listing. I messaged Mekede right away, and asked them to ensure they didn't ship it without the input. They then gave me another link to the input which I had to purchase, so I did. Now, on AE, I had two orders, one for the HDMI input & the other for the original 4 items.

All the items came together & I took a video of the unboxing. Everything was fine except the HDMI Output was missing. I initially thought they'd either send it or refund it, not much of an issue, so I installed the rest of the stuff in my car and all was working fine. I had my RPI emulator plugged in to test and to get it onscreen there was an "app" that you had to launch simply called HDMI or HDMI1, can't remember. Then I tried programming the steering wheel controls which with my car (without canbus) doesn't work, but somehow it managed to program the feed it was getting as the volume down input, so the unit was constantly turning the volume down to nothing. I couldn't find a way to clear the setting, so I did a factory reset seeing as I was just setting up the unit anyway. That's when I found that the HDMI icon to switch to the input was missing.

To begin with I simply messaged Mekede & told them of these two issues. I think they got confused between the input & output because they offered to refund the input but were adamant they had shipped the output. Then they kept saying I had to solder the input onto the board, even though it's already there, and they just couldn't seem to understand that all I need is the software. There is nothing in the settings (including hidden factory options) to do with the HDMI, so I assume it's an app that needs to be installed. That's when google bought me to this forum again where I've asked a couple of times for help with this issue. This is also when I found out about the fake Android 12. If anyone does have one of these units with the input option, I believe it's possible to get the APK from their system. I'm hopeful someone will be able to help soon.

I opened two disputes on AE, one for the separate order of the input, and another for the output which was part of the main order. After a week of back & forth with obvious translation / understanding issues, AE has so far sided with the seller on everything, even though I've provided the video evidence. I then only opened the dispute regarding Android 12 to keep things open on the main unit because of the time limit & the HDMI input is part of that unit but AE treat them as separate items. As I said before, there's no point in the 2k screen if I have to use RCA to connect to it (which I haven't even tried yet). I've made it clear I don't want the HDMI input refunding, I just want the ability to access it. For the last two days, Mekede have said exactly the same thing. "Send me your email, I give APK" - I'm still waiting. I've also made it clear I'll close the dispute on the main unit & the input once they've sent the software & it's working again. I'm not after something for nothing, I don't care about the fake android issue & I'm not looking for a discount because of it, I just want what I paid for to actually work & the one item I didn't receive either sent out or refunded. In the dispute for the HDMI Output, Mekede sent a video that supposedly shows my order being packed with the output in it. It's not my order, which was easily proved because the head unit box model label doesn't say "+ HDMI" like mine does. Again, AE side with the seller. It's just so frustrating & time consuming jumping through the hoops for their dispute process over something that could so easily be sorted out.

Just to update in case it helps anyone else... Mekede have finally sent me an APK today. I'm assuming they've sent the wrong one though, because it has "HDMI 360" in the title & while it gives me access to the HDMI video, I have no sound, so I assume this one is for the 360 cam. It used to work before I reset the unit, and once again I've checked all settings, there's a volume mixer in the factory settings but nothing mentions HDMI. Once again, I've messaged them back with a video of the problem and am hoping they're now on the ball....

I recently bought M500S and everything works great with stock hardware in my car (reveres camera, GPS antenna, USB port...). I have one problem for now and that is BT connection with my OBD vGATE . I can see it in list of devices with correct MAC address but when I try to link it it fails.
- code for it is 1234 and I set up that in radio (code was tested with my phone), also tried with 0000 or 6789
- enabled OBD option under factory settings
- tried to removed OBD and reinsert
- rebooted radio

Any advice?

Thank you.

I've not messed with OBD yet, but I've read elsewhere that unless the device name begins with "OBD" the headunit won't connect to it.

Yet another update.... I got a response from Mekede telling me that my problem of no HDMI audio is an "installation issue" and that I have to take the unit apart & solder two pairs of connectors together. They helpfully provided a video showing this done, so I took my own unit apart and had to laugh when I saw the size of what they expect me to solder. It's so small I can't even see it without a magnifying glass, yet they expect me to solder a wire thinner than a human hair across the connectors I can barely see. Would they replace the unit if I mess it up? Doubt it... They've failed to answer why I have to modify the hardware to get it working when it was ok before the factory reset....

Even though Mekede have offered to refund the HDMI input multiple times in the past, Aliexpress have stepped in and decided "no refund" even though they have all the evidence from the chats of all the hoops I've jumped through trying to get it to work & that according to the seller I would have to physically modify the motherboard of the unit to get it going. I've opened a dispute with paypal. It's only 15 quid, but when I pay for something I expect it to work out the box.

That is probably your problem. From what I've read, it has to start with ODB or the headunit won't even look at it.
It seems I managed to make it work. I exported settings from Torque on my phone and imported them in mekede Torque. Connection is up and running although I didn't pair OBD from BT app in mekede. It does drop sometimes but no to often.

@Dudgeware One suggestion is to take your head unit to a cell phone repair shop. They should be able to do that kind of small soldering.
Good suggestion, but will be yet another expense for something that I've already paid for that should work out of the box, even after a factory reset. Also, what if they stuff it up? Then I end up with a broken unit & will have no comeback through AE or Paypal because the unit has been messed with by a third party.

If it worked with audio before the factory reset then I wouldn't touch the board.
The relevant apk will come about when someone else comes along with an HDMI input device and you will get your audio back.

If you haven't actually heard audio through it before and it really does need modified then that's very poor of Mekede.

It's pretty dodgy how they make you pay for the 360 camera and the hdmi input as a separate purchase to the unit. That means any issues with these add ons would only ever see the add on refunded. No good if it was an integral reason for the purchase of the head unit.

I'm surprised the HDMI input was only £15.

That's just it, I can't be sure if it worked out of the box. Before I installed the unit, I hooked everything up in my mancave to make sure it was all ok. I tested everything & I'm sure I'd have noticed no audio on the HDMI input. On the other hand, Mekede have gone to the trouble of recording a video to show the modification when I'm sure it would have been much easier to just provide the correct APK.

I agree with everything you said about all the add-ons being separate, and it's also dodgy that AE automatically side with the seller just because they provided tracking which showed the package was delivered, even when only 3 out of 4 items were in the box. It's impossible to get to talk to a human at AE and the automated system is terrible.

I only went for the 2k screen because of the HDMI input, RCA input wouldn't give the same quality so it would be pointless having a high res screen, I might as well have gone for the version with the lower res & saved a few bucks.

AE won't refund the item I didn't receive, they won't refund the HDMI Input even though they can clearly see the seller telling me I have to modify the hardware to get it to work, but on a plus note they've just offered me a 32 quid refund because of the fake Android 12.

I wouldn't mind seeing that video (just out of curiosity)
Also, what device do you have/plan to have running through the hdmi input (again, just curious)

Here you go.... I can see the contacts much clearer in the video than next to my own thumb, in real life they're too tiny for my old eyes, couldn't even get the camera to focus that close up. I've got a raspberry pi that I've set up as an emulation station that I wanted to use for now, but the plan was to get a ps4/5 running off an inverter.

A bit late as I am far from an expert on HDMI (input) on these units, but you were discussing some HDMI apk. Did you not mean an lcdconfig for HDMI?

I just tested, it's not because of the dongle.... Sometimes the USB goes after a reboot and sometimes it doesn't. I don't understand it... It's already the second new M700S
Do you have anything else connected via USB?

Did Mekede also send you new USB cables or just a new head unit?

I've only ever seen 2 posts where the USB ports have stopped working and 1 of those posts was yours.
The chances of this happening to you on 2 units in a row are extremely slim and to me this suggests the possibility of some kind of accessory misbehaving.

Does anyone know if the GL850 IC was installed for the USB hub in the FYT devices?
this is the chip from my both Mekede M700S:

right of the chip is a tiny switch IC for direct OTG on the alone (null) USB port/cable

No idea about the NOR MCU but with the YIN MCU it is universal. Both 360 and non 360 units use the 360 MCU.

Also, links to 4pda are banned on xda so you may wish to edit your post.
Oh sorry, I didn't know that the links are forbidden. I just wanted to edit but the mod was faster

Just a heads-up/warning... as of a couple weeks ago, my m700s just spontaneously started to destroy every USB drive plugged into it. I lost $300 worth of USB hardware before I finally figured out what was going on. Proceed with caution on these cheaply developed and manufactured Chinese units.
Fortunately I had rewired the oem usb socket of my car to the unit for full integration, I think the issue is in the poor harness that come with these unit.

    The link is in Russian!?
    welcome to the internet

    Looks like the fan power.
To tell the truth, that is what i supposed and connected it to the only fitting connector on when of the wire harnesses coming out of the device, BUT my fan never turns on, sooooo maybe im wrong.
As well as connecting the fan to the harness you also have to switch it on in the UI. In Settings go to Device/Sound/Amp OnOff set to On to have the fan on. Looks like there isn't proper integration for the fan so they just use the switchable amp power output to drive the fan.

    Very clear, many thanks.
Only one more question, navifly models seems doen't have cooling fan in the back. Is it suggested to have it or not?
It is definitely suggested especially if you live in (sub-)tropical areas. The fan is really quite and keeps the temperature about 20 degrees lower (in my case).

And with regard to "UI looks different": I just created a modded firmware based on the latest Mekede in combination with the latest core/kernel I could find, that contains all 11 launchers that are available for the several FYTs around. I currently use Nova Launcher. My current Mekede firmware (build date 18 September 2021) contains 3 launchers: 2 of them look very nice, but that is only eye candy. Real functionality is not so great. I will simply test all 11 and might get back to Nova again. I will also test if my modded firmware is "sharable". I know simply how to overcome issues, so I want to test first.

I also use something else than the "twipe_all" or "twipe_data", that removes everything (all) or all data including your 3rd party installed apps including their settings. And only because FYT still doesn't have a good update protocol for their own apps after 6+ years.
My "post upgrade" action is only removing all FYT related data/cache/profiles.
But first test if that really works ;)

Excuse me for the little OT. By connecting a smartphone to the Navifly/Mekede with Bluetooth and sharing the address book with it, does it remain in memory with the device? That is, let me explain better, if another smartphone is connected will it have access to the address book of the first smartphone?
Hello there. I've already test it. Me and my girlfriend usually travel together so I have to choose between her phone and mine (FYT unit only connects to 1 phone at a time). So she's connected and all her contacts appear (and I store it) and as soon as I connect my phone the list is swapped and I cannot see her list anymore.
It's a good thing. And other fact is that the unit first pairing is always to the last paired phone during switch off (assuming that that phone bluetooth is enabled).

I finally received my Mekede uis7862 unit for my Octavia 2015, but it doesn't fit correctly. It needs to be pushed in and "click" tight. That is the system VW/Skoda/Seat/Audi use after 2013. That doesn't work and therefore it can easily fall out of the dashboard.
I did a test drive this afternoon and as such the unit functions fine, but the fact that it is completely loose and can fall out of the dash is an extreme annoyance after having waited so long.

EDIT: And the 5GHz WiFi reception is a big deception. I have to park my car almost inside my nearest WiFi Mesh AP, while I have a perfect MESH WiFi network.
