I hardly think having root before flashing this ROM would matter at all, as this comes pre-rooted, like all the ROMs I've seen here.
oh.. thought you also had to be root.. so I'm the newbie here :)

My class 10 16gb

Thanks for the post! How much you assigned to your ext4 partition? Do you feel the ROM a little bit sluggish or overall fluid?

What about JIT?

I just switched to MeDroidMod 1.3.1 and it's great (although version info claims it to be version 1.1.3 ;-).

It's snappy and stable, but two questions popped up after installation:
  • after installation, my Apex-Launcher was gone - no idea why, and
  • i'm wonderwing whether JIT was turned off on purpose (it already was on 1.3)
Apex was installed easily after reboot, but the turned-off-JIT is a bit strange.
Benchmarks result in awful values, but the system feels snappy as hell...
I turned on JIT and basically see no difference in snappyness - although the benchmark-results are good again.

Is JIT of any value at all (benchmarks don't count...)?

That must be a ****ty class 10. The write speed is just over 7 MB/s and a real Class 10 has 10 MB/s guaranteed transfer speed.

Your SD-card looks like it's either a ****ty Class 10 or rebranded Class 7, I'm sorry.
Keep in mind, that the guaranteed 10MB/s are raw I/O speed. SD-Tools measures the logical filesystem speed only, which is definitely less than the raw I/O speed.

To check whether it really is a ****ty card, you'd have to use raw I/O tools like e.g. "dd" on a Linux box or appropriate windows tools.

Just one Question: Is MeDroid stable enough for daily usage?

Now i'm at MIUI and definitely want to try ICS.
I need working mic, speaker, camera, maps, tb wake and of course wifi, market and gmail - does this ROM gives me that?
I recently saw that you guys still have problems with the camera - whats that exactly?

Would be nice if someone can answer me the questions :)

Thank you! :)

I am using MeDroid v6.1 with zkernel #21 for my daily usage, very stable. The items you mentioned all work.

I'm using the latest build and it definitely is stable enough for daily use, which was a criteria for me too. You will encounter problem mounting your SD card via USB put a couple of quick and easy solutions have been posted in the last few pages.

Go for it!

Like Multi-mount SD ;)

That app "avoids" the slow transfer speeds of the kernel, or native android mount.

My USB transfer rates went from 200 kb range to 15 Mb  with Multi-mount SD app

I think this ROM can definitely be a daily driver. I don't usually use my phone for everything and have the mobile data on during day, but for other tasks (phone, cam, etc) didn't really have any problems.

I am guessing with a little bit improvement on kernel things will get better. I must say, this ROM is more snappier compared to my CM7.1 in general. I am anxiously waiting for the hwa...
Thank you guys for bringing this ROM to our N1.

Thanks for the answer :) I think i'll give it a shot.

But I've got a problem with BlackRose.
Install was fine - but i can't resize the partitions because i'm on a mac. If there's another toll to resize the partition?

Last step to flash MeDroid - drives me crazy

I'd recommend to use 4ext recovery. Best recovery atm and able to partition your card.

I finally switched from 6.1 Medroid to the ne 1.3.1 and again it's a leap in the right direction. There are still flaws and some stuff is annoying but the overall experience is slick and fast.
I love the new CM9 features that have been added.

Do you have the mic and bluetooth issues? I flashed version 1.3.1 and had problems with mic and bluetooth. I resolved the mic issues by followed the instructions but the bluetooth didn't work so I flashed back to v6.1

I'm having some trouble going from CM7.1 N1 to medroid 1.3.1, I'm wiping everything through the recovery and I do have blackrose with the correct partion sizes, I was running medroid cm9 on an earlier release they had, but I lost root access so I did what I knew best and reflashed amon-ra recovery and cm7, gained root access again, but now it just goes into a boot loop every time I flash 1.3.1. Before I try to flash 1.3.1 I wipe everything on the phone, all userdata/ all partions/ sd card/ system. I have it partitioned with 1.5gb sd-ext 4, 0 swap and rest fat 32, am I missing a step or have I done something wrong.

How about dalvik-cahce. I am assuming you did it, but never hurts to ask. Also, I generally wipe each twice or trice just to make sure. I read in some forum that sometimes wiping once might not be enough (although it sounds silly).

Yeah, always wipe dalvik, what I don't get is Ive switched between cm6-cm7 with no problem, from cm7 to MIUI ICS to Medroid ICS before with no problem, it was when I first got onto Medroid ICS that I lost root access, and ap2sd wasn't working, and SU wasn't working at all, Titanium Backup kept getting the error that I didn't have root access. Ill give it a try wiping all a couple times, would it make a difference if I havn't flashed Blackrose since ive gone back to CM7, I wouldn't think that would make a difference at all, Ive also tried changing the kernel to #21 and still hasn't helped. Can't try again right now, will try again later with an edit.

Why don't you try to flash Medroid v6.1 with zkernel #21 to see if you have boot loop

you guys use the paid version or the Lite version?

Looking at the comments of the paid version, people are raving about how fast it copies files via USB..

Tried the Lite version before I decide to buy, back on CM 7.1 I'd get about 300kb... with Multi Mount Lite I'd get between 600kb and 900gb (on a class 4 microsd)

With the USB Data app, I get between 1.7mb and 2.2mb transfer rate....

So it goes quite a bit fast with USB Data app in my case, unless the Multi Mount Lite is somewhat restricted...

However, if I plug the microSD card directly to the PC with a card reader, I do get close to 4mb transfer rate... so its not that my card is bad.

Anyhow, got a class 10 on its way, cant wait to receive it to properly use apps2sd

If you got feedback of which version of Multi Mount you've got, that'd be appreciated too!

Anyone flash 1.3.2? Is this official release?
well samuaz just posted in the thread backing up this build (1.3.2a) adding that it also fixes USB storage problem.
Well we'll have to give it a shot wont we!? :)

I never even tried the free version. I bought the paid one directly. :)

It costs only a dollar :p
True, aint gonna ruin myself.. :)

As soon as I get my new card (in a day or two) and taking advantage that there will probably and update by then, I'll format the new card and go ahead and get the paid app.. on my current card is just not worth it.
