Yes, it's installed in the car. I've tried connecting a HDMI device & no, it doesn't install automatically. I've also scanned the internal storage for apk's in case it had been copied over, but nothing. The DVR does have the APK installed on it's own internal storage, but there's nothing for the HDMI.
Ok, unfortunately I'm still very new to these units, but i have a feeling it will be a simple solution to some of the FYT unit O.G's around these parts....hold tight, I'm sure someone will chime in with your fix

That's what I'm hoping :) Thanks for your input
Hi did you enable HDMI in settings/factory settings? (code: 3368) It might be that bc of the reset it is on off. If its on off its highly possible thats the reason for missing the icon (after enableing it the HU needs a reboot just to be sure). I had similar expirience with the forn cam app icon which only appeared after activating it in the factory menu.

I've been through the factory settings a dozen times and haven't seen anything there to enable the HDMI. I'll got to go out in a bit so I'll have another check and report back as soon as I can...

I've been through every setting on the system and cannot find anything related to the HDMI. I'm sure this would be a simple fix for Mekede, but they don't seem to understand what I'm asking of them and it's so frustrating communicating at a rate of one message a day, especially when they ignore everything you say. They seem to have clicked that I'm talking about the input, not the output, but have repeatedly said "we sent the chip, can't you solder it to the board" while ignoring that I've told them the chip is already on the board, it's the software I need.

WHY DO YOU NEED TO UPDATE?

Hi all Iv been running this unit but with the 360 setup instead of the HDMI In and its been running withouth issue for the most part since being given new firmware.

I was wondering if anyone on here has managed to figure out how to un-cripple the Bluetooth? I set sys.fyt.bluetooth_type to 0 but that didn't really make a difference, in fact it just made it so my phone wouldn't connect. I'm wondering if its a different numerical value on this unit.

Also anyone else notice they changed over the voice assistant from Nexia to Toppal?

Not that I know of. I've been looking for the software to access the HDMI input but can't find it anywhere, and in my search I've only come across Mekede's own site for other updates.

It might be a different value as I believe your unit comes pre set with a 7 instead of the 1 on the M300s-M600s.

Try different values between 0-9.
You only need to flash a config.txt and an lsecupdate file, no need to flash anything else. You can cycle through them quickly.
Install a Bluetooth app on your phone that detects the mac address used by the head unit.

Just gave this a shot but no dice. Values of 0, 7 and 9 seem to allow devices to be discoverable but they all behave differently.

When I put in 0 and scan for devices it displays everything in the area with the proper names but wont connect to anything not even my phone.

7 is the default that allows me to connect to my phone but nothing else so far other then an ELM327. (Trying to get my BlueDriver OBD2 to work)

9 also shows devices when scanning however everything is displayed as noname. It will also not allow me to connect to anything.

I didn't go past 9 but is it possible that the values go higher then that? Or perhaps its a different setting that also needs to be altered on this unit.

Pretty frustrating that they cripple these units like this to try and force-feed there addons.

Hi what type of ELM327 can you connect via BT with default settings to the headunit?

HI guys , i came across a very frustrating issue while testing my one week old M6 pro 2K 8+128Gb.
The unit defaults its time and date to 01-02-2023 03:11 every time i REBOOT regardless of time settings set, being manual set or "network provided time"
The only way the unit gives me the right time is when connected to the internet and set to "network provided time"
i also notice that a couple of times when the clock is set manually the unit rebooted with the right time but gets changed straight away to the above time and date.

Does anyone has this issue?
unit has been factory reset several times.
wiring is correct, and confirmed by my old px5 unit .

You're not alone, I've noticed mine does this occasionally too, though mine goes back to the correct time & date within a minute or so without internet connection so it's not really bothered me. It doesn't seem to update until all startup apps are loaded, which in my case is the DVR, TPMS, and Waze . It is connected to my phone through bluetooth though, and Waze plays up rotten, sometimes not loading correctly, sometimes not logged in, it can hang the system at times until I kill the app. Sometimes, my unit seems to go through the full boot process as though it was completely shut down, it shouldn't do that because the wiring for the permanent 12v & ignition 12v is correct.

As for the wiring being correct, there is also a menu setting that swaps the +12v constant & the +12v ignition. Mine was on when it came out the box, but off after a factory reset. Worth checking...

This is due to to the fact that the unit does not have a backup battery, and obviously the FYT developers/builders do not know how to use the constant 12V.
So yes, indeed: every time the unit boots it gets back "some date" that doesn't make sense. Is it the date/time the MCU firmware was flashed to the MCU?

The time is correct after:
- connection via GPS
- connection via Bluetooth to a phone
- connection to the internet (and there it by default connects to some Chine dns-servers. If these are swapped by google dns-servers, it also is faster to get the correct date/time)

Screen print of the previous version that was the most current and the other and the version that is installed. What the **** did I do

I've not messed with the firmware on mine, but what apps have you lost?

Is it possible to change without flashing whole new Firmware?
yes, all you need is config.txt and the lsec6315update file on USB, nothing else

On the page are actually all firmware to be seen or am I mistaken, are they newer on the page or what I have is up to date?

You simply have to check every now and then. Mekede does not communicate when they post a new firmware and there can be quite some delay as well between their release date and the actual firmware creation date.

I simply download a new firmware every -8 weeks and check the Ver file inside the AllAppUpdate.bin and the build.prop inside the system.img to see whether the App level has been upgraded, or that the kernel has been upgraded.
For example: I downloaded the latest 7862-A12-wbt-9-10.rar (not an M6 as I have an M500S) on 31 August 2023 and it turned out that that one was updated compared to the previous one. The previous one had an App version date of 14 March 2023, and I downloaded that one the last time on 14 August 2023.
The one I downloaded on 31 August 2023 had an App layer date of 13 July 2023 and a kernel date of 16 May, so quite some delay between the build and the release, and built before the previous download of 14 August.

So check for yourself and keep checking regularly.

I got a 2k screen last year from yet another knockoff/renamed/noname something.
It does indeed have a MIPI 2k screen as well as 8GB RAM and 128GB storage.
    (tested with fake device tester)
that said, the high resolution plays havoc with apps (maps is soooo tiny).
Luckily, the latest Joying firmware for 2k screens corrected most of the issues, but still a couple of apps aren't optimized (gmaps, is the biggest pita there, can't see any street names from the driver's seat)
I experience the same thing in 2K, to be honnest, I prefer 1280x720 than 2K

Yes, Android 10 in fact !

I'm also intrested to see if the call quality issues people mentioned are improved in this unit.

I've spoken to mekede rep online and they say that the chip is now UIS7862 S and the issue was not related to mic lacking noise cancelling but to the internal BT 5.0. The UIS7862 S has internal BT 5.1 and they claim this will resolve the problem.

Not sure I believe this but interested in others thoughts.
The version of Bluetooth going from 5.0 to 5.1 will do nothing at all to improve the sound quality of a microphone.
