This is due to to the fact that the unit does not have a backup battery, and obviously the FYT developers/builders do not know how to use the constant 12V.
So yes, indeed: every time the unit boots it gets back "some date" that doesn't make sense. Is it the date/time the MCU firmware was flashed to the MCU?

The time is correct after:
- connection via GPS
- connection via Bluetooth to a phone
- connection to the internet (and there it by default connects to some Chine dns-servers. If these are swapped by google dns-servers, it also is faster to get the correct date/time)
Thanks @surfer63 ,
that's bad if indeed is the case! i have an ASUS router with no hardware clock so i know how bad things can get.
This can somehow be mitigate by installing a fake hardware clock into the firmware, my plan its to build my own rom for it and take care of such things but its been years since i cooked a rom and there is a lot of catchup to do.
I will check the firmware, mcu compilations dates to see if anything matches.

Do you mean your own apk, or your own rom?
And with own ROM: a modded rom or custom rom?
These units come without source code and have a lot of closed source hardware drivers and modified code.
According to GPL for Android, modified code means that it has to be shared when asked for. That does not work either in China.
So nobody in the past 8 years was really able to build a real custom rom.

But surprise us :) Please :)

I find that there is a slight constant hiss/static on mine, regardless of the volume level it's constant. Has anyone experienced this? Grounding?

Is it possible to connect to an iPhone (carlink) over USB or just bluetooth? I have tried multiple settings.

Hi all,
Just ordered the M6Pro Plus 8G 256G, looking for a pdf of the user manual, their website has a bunch on videos but i prefer and full manual in pdf. Anyone got a link? also are there any firmware/software updates for the unit?

Hello, I'm hoping you can help me as I've only been in the world of car multimedia radios for a couple of weeks. I wanted to purchase a device for my van, and I'm torn between the Teyes CC3 and this model. The seller from MEKEDES told me that it's not compatible with my vehicle (Fiat Ducato III). I asked them if it's because of the frame or if it doesn't integrate with the vehicle controls, but I haven't received a response yet. (Edit: The response has been: CANbus and cable are not compatible. )

However, I thought that maybe you could answer this question for me. Could the MEKEDES device work if I find a compatible frame for it? Or is it more complicated than that? Teyes CC3 advertises that it is available for my vehicle and also sells a custom frame.

It crossed my mind to buy the frame from Teyes and the M6Pro Plus from MEKEDES, or am I crazy? Haha.
Another idea I had is to buy the Teyes CC3 and flash it with the firmware/software from MEKEDES. I've read old threads where they say that deep down it's the same unit and there's no problem, but now Teyes has become more restrictive.

Thank you very much, everyone.

I have seen a few of his reviews but still have questions.
Boot up time for example, he always shows hot boots saying that the unit boots up fast, never cold boots. Also he never posts sound samples of the phone calls.

I've got a 2gb model and cold boot is about 20-30 seconds. Not horrible imo. I think it's about the same with all the units regardless of specs.

Cold boot will still take 20-30 seconds. The CPU might be slightly faster and the memory, but the storage is still "slow"EMMC instead of UFS.
phone calls are still bad. You have read the posts above and other posts in the forum (You did read them, didn't you?)

Yeah, he always says how AMAZING those devices are. He doesn’t say anything about flaws.
That's partly because companies send him samples for free.
If he criticizes the head unit too much then they won't send any more samples.
Positive reviews = free stuff

A lot of smaller YouTubers who do reviews make a lot of their income from selling goods after reviewing them

I treat those more like sponsored videos than reviews.
I prefer to go with the opinion of someone who has spent their own money on a product.

when mine arrives and i complete the install ill report back with a fair and balanced review. My main concern is whats the audio quality from the deck to speakers.. i will be running a 5channel amp, good splits and a sub down the road, but initally will be this headunit with oem speakers no amp, then amp+splits, then a sub down last.

cant see that little onboard amp being very powerful or sounding to good..

Yes I have read all the thread. I am always hoping to get a unit with good call quality. It is a pity that these Chinese manufacturers don't fixe this. It is the only thing keeping me away from these units as the reste of their functionalities are juste Great.

Is it possible to change without flashing whole new Firmware?
yes, all you need is config.txt and the lsec6315update file on USB, nothing else

On the page are actually all firmware to be seen or am I mistaken, are they newer on the page or what I have is up to date?

You simply have to check every now and then. Mekede does not communicate when they post a new firmware and there can be quite some delay as well between their release date and the actual firmware creation date.

I simply download a new firmware every -8 weeks and check the Ver file inside the AllAppUpdate.bin and the build.prop inside the system.img to see whether the App level has been upgraded, or that the kernel has been upgraded.
For example: I downloaded the latest 7862-A12-wbt-9-10.rar (not an M6 as I have an M500S) on 31 August 2023 and it turned out that that one was updated compared to the previous one. The previous one had an App version date of 14 March 2023, and I downloaded that one the last time on 14 August 2023.
The one I downloaded on 31 August 2023 had an App layer date of 13 July 2023 and a kernel date of 16 May, so quite some delay between the build and the release, and built before the previous download of 14 August.

So check for yourself and keep checking regularly.

Pulling my Hair!!! (whats left of it):)
HI guys , i came across a very frustrating issue while testing my one week old M6 pro 2K 8+128Gb.
The unit defaults its time and date to 01-02-2023 03:11 every time i REBOOT regardless of time settings set, being manual set or "network provided time"
The only way the unit gives me the right time is when connected to the internet and set to "network provided time"
i also notice that a couple of times when the clock is set manually the unit rebooted with the right time but gets changed straight away to the above time and date.

    Does anyone has this issue?
unit has been factory reset several times.
wiring is correct, and confirmed by my old px5 unit .
This is due to to the fact that the unit does not have a backup battery, and obviously the FYT developers/builders do not know how to use the constant 12V.

I got a 2k screen last year from yet another knockoff/renamed/noname something.
It does indeed have a MIPI 2k screen as well as 8GB RAM and 128GB storage.
    (tested with fake device tester)
that said, the high resolution plays havoc with apps (maps is soooo tiny).
Luckily, the latest Joying firmware for 2k screens corrected most of the issues, but still a couple of apps aren't optimized (gmaps, is the biggest pita there, can't see any street names from the driver's seat)
I experience the same thing in 2K, to be honnest, I prefer 1280x720 than 2K

Yes, Android 10 in fact !

I'm also intrested to see if the call quality issues people mentioned are improved in this unit.

I've spoken to mekede rep online and they say that the chip is now UIS7862 S and the issue was not related to mic lacking noise cancelling but to the internal BT 5.0. The UIS7862 S has internal BT 5.1 and they claim this will resolve the problem.

Not sure I believe this but interested in others thoughts.
The version of Bluetooth going from 5.0 to 5.1 will do nothing at all to improve the sound quality of a microphone.
