Has someone tried to flash the Global Mi 11 Ultra Rom to the Mi 11 Pro?
I am not very happy with the Xiaomi.eu Rom on my Pro, because of heat issues and battery drain, that was not a problem with the stock CN Rom, when I bought the phone, so I would like to try the original EEA or Global Rom. I read on a few sides, that Pro and Ultra use the same Roms, but it seems that no one really tried it.

As said, yes both use same ROMs. Check here for latest, http://mifirm.net . Don't forget that global and EEA ROMs use Google dialler, contacts and text app. It has a much different feel and updates are few and far between. Not my cup of tea but a lot of people prefer. You won't know unless you try but don't forget to format data on every branch change or it will boot loop.

Ok, I'm super confused about Xiaomi's ROM policy for the 11 Ultra/Pro. As far as I understand it, there are 2 main ROM variants?

- Chinese
- Global

Also there seems to be a Global EU version?

Is there some post or video explaning this in general? I am on 12.5.6 RKAEUXM Global? Or is it actually EU global? So confusing 🙄🤔

There are 3, the Stock Chinese, EEA and Global versions actually. The Xiaomi EU ROM is a custom ROM based on the Chinese stable and weekly beta releases.
You are using the EEA stable ROM. This is a stock ROM for the European market. The stock Global is for exactly what it says, global and obviously the Chinese is just that.

It's not confusing. The Global and EEA version are virtually identicle to one another and both use Google services. The China rom does not. A third party custom rom Is created be Xiaomi.eu. There rom is based on the China rom, but they have removed Chinese script and bloat/ads and added Google services.

There's one more - RKAEUVF - the official UK Vodafone variant running 12.5.1.0 as of today. If you buy it from the Xiaomi store it would probably be the EEA variant but i'm not sure. It might be another UK variant never seen before.

Thats because the roms (EEA and GLOBAL) are virtually identcal. The only difference is in the types of adverts specifically pushed to that phone for that region, as well as, any EEA specific regulations that they might have to adhere to and enabling of various radio bands in the software, but other than those specific items, the roms are identical.

Well ROMs are similar otherwise they would work identically and they don't,but yeah they are identical except for that

Sorry yes, Vodafone has their own version. It's based on the EEA but with Vodafone branding and settings. I tried a Vodafone version on a Huawei phone once when you could flash them. I wished I didn't, it kept wanting to update the ROM with Vodafone updates too. Just could not get rid of it. Won't do that again! There will be specific Indian versions too now it's released too, so lots to come as it is released across the globe.

Just a little bit of research, you can find all details in this forum,

you can find all types of roms in the following link:

Honestly, from your question, do a bit of study of what should you do, as your question is too simple to just change language. It is a complete software change over. also, you have to read (in this forum) to know the differences between rom variants, to choose best suits you and does not brick your device.

Good luck

I thought its not safe to cross flash roms from different regions?
Will ruin their persist or something?
It's not "safe" for two reasons: you'll need to wipe data (will bootloop to recovery if not) and you must remain bootloader unlocked while having a ROM different from the original device region (else softbrick only solvable by EDL)...

Never heard of any issues with persist on the Mi11U - which doesn't mean there may be some somewhere :D

Can I flash the 12.0.1 global rom to my 12.5.2 Chinese version via fastboot, knowing that i have the Mi11 pro?
No, you WILL brick the device. Do not downgrade. I suggest flashing latest stable from xiaomi.eu. No features are missing, L1 is there, multi language support is there, no chinese bloatware, full google support.

I just updated to 12.5.4 stable from 12.5.2 CN stable without any issues through the stock Updater by installing the Incremental update posted. It was 190MB in size: https://bigota.d.miui.com/V12.5.4.0...RKACNXM-V12.5.4.0.RKACNXM-82305bc78b-11.0.zip

I've only had the update for a few minutes but the camera quality right off the bat seems way better. Zoom seems a lot more stable and much improved. The ultrawide has slightly less distortion and soft corners now from what I'm seeing. I will take some more photos when I go outside later.

12.5.4 is supposed to bring a nice amount of camera improvements (they said 13 in total), especially in low light, zoom, ultrawide angle's barrel distortion and more as shown here:

I tried yesterday going from the Chinese to global kept getting bunch of errors and than it got stuck in fastboot ended up going back to the Chinese one, I just don't understand what happened flashing back to the Chinese one only took one try but trying any of the other two the global and Eu just got errors like image don't match device, or couldn't load sparse or flashing timed out... Any ideas will be appreciated.. thanks in advance...
In addition to what has already been written: I would think the anti rollback mechanism hit. Chinese is 12.5.x whereas the others are (to my knowledge) 12.0.x....
I would advise to install the Xiaomi.EU custom ROM which is based on the Chinese ROM but with lot of customizations, including full western language support... That way you would get best of both :)

I want to try global rom because of battery life. With eu rom i only get 4 - 4.30 hours sot. It seems so low for me.
