Mi 8 Lite...why there is not even a post about it

Yeah, I'm surprised that it hasn't received much attention. It reminds me of the Mi Note 3 - that was under-rated too.

Can I ask a question? When you put your Mi 8 Lite into silent mode, does it display the silent icon on the right side of the status bar? If you receive a text message, does the icon appear next to the clock on the left side? I'm just curious, since the notch is smaller than on my Pocophone, and the Pocophone doesn't have space for these icons.

Hi. No, it doesnt appear. Just like the poco and the normal mi 8

The Mi 8 Lite needs a separate section on XDA in my opinion as the devices are quite different. Different screen size and screen technology, different processors, differences in cameras, etc. They may carry a similar name, but they are completely different devices. It is also quite new, so it will most likely take a while for development to take off, especially when the Mi 8 has been out for a while and is decently priced.

i bought this device on the 15th of this month (coming from my heroic nexus 5)
started the bootloader unlock request on the same day and i have to wait 15 days before unlocking (it feels like forever xD)
saw other people talking about this phone in other places on xda too but still no dedicated device section
i posted a request in the new device request thread, if you guys posted requests there i think it'll help our cause too

i hope we'll get our own dedicated forum soon

Ok" so glad I found this thread thought I was going mad as I to could not find the mi 8 lite section I'm surprised it hasn't got one yet did ask around in mi 8 se forum but no answers I was aware the se/lite have different SD I will put a +1 in on request page as well hopefully will get our own section

the wait period is too much, but at least we can still unlock them xD

Can someone make sure to post the link here once the dedicated section will be created? The Mi 8 Lite is indeed a completely different device compared to the other Mi 8 devices so it makes sense to have a separate section on the forum..
