Mi a1 dead, blinking led

Just happened to me today. As I was getting ready to open the phone up, I tried charging it with a different adapter and the screen actually turned on.

Some specifics for my case:
My phone had almost no battery when I went to sleep and the next morning was when the problem happened.
I'm on android pie, december patches (not the first stable build that ruined everyone's phones but the second one).
I let my phone charge it's original charger for a while before trying with another adapter.

I fixed with the following steps:
Carefully open your phone.
Disconnect battery
Connect charger
Reconnect battery (while charger is still connected).
Let it charge for 2 min
Then start phone

If it works just ensemble your phone again and hopefully you will never get this problem again.

I heard that this problem is because a desynchronization between battery and phone when battery is totally drained. This should fix it.

Cable Issue

Its very simple the solution. The problem is the cable. Try to change the cable, charging the phone and turn it on. I my case works

Hello friends, I have mi a1. When I reboot it, it automatically boot in twrp recovery. I tried to flash another rom but it's not boot in rom but boot into twrp recovery. When I flash Google pie rom it is flash and boot in rom but it stucks on google logo. Then I tried to flash miui 10 epic rom but when it boot in rom and reach at roms epic logo it's automatically reboot my phone.

Please friends help me. ????

I had also the issue that the phone boots into TWRP mode. After re-flash Magisk, all went good.

The white led on top still flashing kind of quick, on mine and the unit simple does not power on at all, i tried to flash new versions and all versions as well as different versions of the mi flash, also different windows 7 , windows 10, but still shown "pin target via forehose" at the Mi flash for hundred times, different computers, did the cable edl as well and nothing the unit is on "EDL" basically at all the times, so i dont have to open and do the short connection evethough i did try as well but nothing still off just with the blincking light, before if was boot loading witg the android white screen and got freeze but now after trying all this the screen is completely off and the blinkinh led on top just when the charger is connected.....im in USA so basically im on my own there is no support from Xiaomi at all......please please can someone help me to resolved this issue.......i really begging yoi for some help and light at the end of the tunnel here......thanks in advance

i face the same issue..first it suddenly black screen then i cant turn on by holding the power button.i did nothin.but i need to plug it with usb cable to like start it..like an engine..then it will start like normal..but rightnow it went black screen n when i put the cable to start it like an engine it start with a flash of white n mi logo then it went black n suddenly my world also go black..n then it started blinking led..its goes on n on until i unplugged

This works for me too, thank you so much. Just be careful because the first time I tried, there was tiny little spark, I almost afraid it shorted. But fortunately after third tries, my Xiaomi screen turns on and show the empty battery icon. Let it charge for a while and it works fine.

Im having the same issue tried edl cable + edl mode my computer doesn't recognize my mi a1 anymore, when i plug a cable, the led is just blinking i cant go to fastboot either.. when i press/hold the power button the LED lights and it wont even turn on my phone is bricked and i cant even flash on miflash since it does not recognized the phone.. i also tried different cables
