Xiaomi has released new software updates for the Mi Band 3 and Mi Smart Band 4 (aka Mi Band 4 in China) that now lets you unlock your laptops with the smart bands without having to install a third-party app on your smartphones.
Initially this feature is only available for the Indian users and you can only unlock laptops running Windows 10 OS.

Update to 1.0.9.46 is out. Sharing HR in realtime with 3rd party apps/devices is now available.
As far as I know, no. NFC doesn't have support outside of China and it most likely won't change for this model.
That's one month old model, different HW revision and you must select Russia region in Mi Fit as far as I know. If you really need NFC, wait for global version of Mi Band 5, which should support it in UK without any hacks.

At first, try update your MiFit app (4.6.1 is the newest now). After that the firmware update should appears automatically.

Files match these original ones and guys at geekdoing tested them.Thanks for the help, but I don't think I am ready to test this, if it's not confirmed

Edit: Watch faces can be still uploaded with N&F app and animations are working as well (just some watch faces need updated json file, the minimum animation speed is "4" now).
