Mi Mix 5G change from PEMEUVF (Vodafone) to PEMEUXM

I have a question regarding firmware on my Mi Mix 5G. I currently have 10.3.21 Stable (PEMEUVF firmware), on my device. I would like to unlock my bootloader, use Miflash to install 10.3.20.0.PEMEUXM (MIUI10) from the MIUI website (https://c.mi.com/uk/miuidownload/detail?device=1700357) and relock my bootloader.

Is this safe to perform, will I brick my phone?

I just did that and its safe. I am just not sure about relocking, most people suggest to not re-lock. Just leave it unlocked.

You can't download PEMEUVF just use PEMEUXM its basically the same just without some 2 Vodafone apps preinstalled.

Ta, not in a 5G area to test VF 5G on PEMEUXM but if the only difference is to not have pre-installed VF app then even better.

Hi, I have the same version of phone and firmware PEMEUVF. Was it successful for changing to PEMEUXM and relocking??

Changed PEMEUVF to PEMEUXM with bootloader relocking. All work fine. The Mi Phone Caller got voice recorder.

EXACTLY THIS. I have one phone with VF on THREE in UK that shows 5G in "prefered neywork" and one phone with XM on THREE that does not show 5G . Anyone know how to fix this? or does anyone have VF to share?

You have to manually flash the Global ROM. Both, VF PEMEUVF and Global PEMMIXM ROM support 5G in "preferred network". As the VF branded version is not downloadable anywhere, you will have to get the fastboot global version

The Europe PEMEUXM release doesn't show the 5G option, so it should to be avoided at the moment.

thread: Mi Mix3 5G change from PEMEUVF (Vodafone) to PEMEUXM (EEA) = This wont get Brick as long as upgrade with the same region Rom~ You CAN'T downgrade and you CAN'T mix up ROM with the region ~ exampla: region MI to CN / CN to RU / EU to CN and this kind of Flash will totally BRICK your phone ...

If your Rom is (Global_V10.3.19.0.PEMEUVF) this already support for 5G mobile networks.
I don't see any Vodafone apps preinstalled. It was a clean and clear with Google Apps only. Some may not getting update (Global_V10.3.21.0.PEMEUVF)from OTA , try change your Region (Setting-> Additional setting-> Region) to "United Kingdom" and check again for the update (Setting-> About phone-> System update ) Good luck.
