Yes, used original quick charger, and USB. Using Ressurection Remix 5.8.0 (7.1 Nougat), but was getting problem with MIUI too, but shut down at 7%, and start charging at 21%, i think it may be software problem.
Same problem. I thought it only happens in custom roms but it also happens in MIUI as well. In custom roms, the shutdown happens randomly from 15 to 30% but in MIUI, it happens from 5 to 15% at most. When you plug it in, charging starts from 0% then after about 3 seconds, it jumps to 20%. Obviously there's something wrong.

Earlier today I had to reboot my phone twice when I still have 50%+ battery. First reboot turned out ok and the battery drops down to 49%. The problem started on the 2nd reboot wherein the phone immediately shuts down just after the lockscreen shows up. Tried to turn the phone on again but now it refuses to boot and shuts down on the AICP bootscreen. I booted recovery to check how much battery I have left and to my surprise it was down to 18%. What's more surprising is that the phone refuses to boot even if I still have that much power left. After a couple of boot retries the battery just died.

I've tried using non QC chargers and It doesn't seem it's getting better. I'm actually on the 4th charge now using non qc charger but the result was just the same as using a QC charger.

Rebooting kinda messes up the battery reading.

I have the same issues. Phone is charged to 100% then I reboot and it immediately drops to 40-50%. And when charged and not rebooted it switches off at levels way above zero. It's really annoying, already tried different roms, different chargers etc., nothing helps. Would be great to know if a new battery helps, otherwise I am considering getting a new phone.

For who you've got sudden turn offs with more than 3% battery left try the latest dev rom and do a battery calibration with the app with the same name from playstore following the app's instructions. Since then I haven't encountered this issue again...

Hi everyone, my phone does not shut down but while i play games and it discharges pretty quickly it it not as strong as before... http://www.dragon-tt.com/Products.aspx?page=2 does not have them in stock, all AliExpress items seems to be low quality fakes. Any ideas where to get good battery?

Maybe BM33 form 4i could be used? Seems like same battery..

Thanks.

As I bought my phone half a year ago, I also bought a Zimi 18W quick charger (Support QC2.0). So far the battery still works well, I don't think it is the quick charger damaged the battery.
In China, the new battery can be replaced by the official designated repair point, and it seems that the offical new battery can not be purchased through the online shopping platform.

I finally got around to replacing the battery. its only connected for like an hour while charging, so no real impressions yet.
First impression, the battery itself looks like an original used one (in terms of appearance).
I'm also afraid that I won't be able to change back to the original battery because of the super strong glue with which the battery comes and no pulling patch like on the original.

Second Impression:
1. Quick charge works.
2. I still believe this is an original battery taken out from a different device probably after RMA.
3. The battery is about 50% stronger than my current original battery (aged about 13 months with severe abuse) but still about 75% the ability of a new battery (currently I'm with xosp rom).
4. After putting this battery there is probably no way to remove it, it comes with a really strong two sided adhesive tape and no pulling strip.
5. I'm having some issues with battery percentage reporting but I also had it with the original battery where after reset the battery will drop to 70%/40%/10% but in fact will stay there for several hours, I tried battery calibration but XOSP forced me to hard reset when I was about 40% and then it dropped to 10% for the next 2 hours (under heavy usage) it finally gave up.

I think that my battery is also in bad shape - with MIUI (MIUI.eu for example), the battery goes from 100% to 0% as it should, but I only get 2h SOT at max. With any other ROM, I get the same SOT, but the phone turns off with 30-40% of battery left.

This is a kernel issue which has already been fixed on the latest AICP build or by flashing the kernel made by cozmy

So anyone has any idea where to buy a replacement battery for my Mi4c that will work well? Current battery is getting weak after 1.5 years of use, but i dont want to buy a battery that will last me a month or two.
Thank you.

Everyone has the same problem. It's better to buy a new phone rather than replace the battery. Nealy 3 years since the the phone was released.

Still it is a perfectly capable and good phone. All we need is a good battery to last us another 3 years. Even as backup phone one needs good battery.
So yes, the search continues. I bought a battery but it barely can hold a day of charge, so i am not recommending it. Anyone has better results?

I just a new battery for my mi4c from aliexpress and there is this nail polish smell coming from it. Is that normal? i couldn't find anything definitive on google and i don't really want to take any chances.

In case someone needs to buy a battery I can recommend Nohon. Even though I still haven't tested enough time the capacity is at 95% after the first charge cycle.

Not sure if this will be usefull anymore, but perhaps my experience will help someone.

I bought a battery from Aliexpress and after almost a year it still works well enough. It holds a charge for over a day still, even though i play a game for an hour or so daily (among normal usage - calling, mail, various not-so-power-hungry apps). I run LineageOS 15.1 on it.
I tried to find+paste my original buying link, but the product is not selling there anymore. The shop is still there though: LOSONCOER Official Store. The battery they sell there now is different though (they advertise it ast 3850mAh battery), so i dont know if info will be of any use, but anyway... on my buying link it said "LOSONCOER 3.84V 3350mAh BM35 Battery Mobile Phone Batteries For Original Xiaomi 4C / M4C / Mi 4C / Mi4C Battery".

Anyway, i still love my phone, and when i buy a new one, i will do it only because of better photos.

I did change the battery yesterday :). First charging looks good...98% charged capacity after first cycle (check the screenshot from AccuBattery). But I have not tested the SOT endurance.
Battery bought here: NOHON-BM35-BM36-BM22-BM45-BM46-Battery-For-Xiaomi-Mi-5-5S-4C

Came very quickly and professionally packed with all necessary tools. Changed in 10 minutes.
Will update in case there was issue with the battery.

BTW... running Mi4c on Android Pie CrDroid ROM is smooth experience and I'm really happy that even 3 years old device can still be refreshed to the best possible configuration which to be honest 90% of the new phones still does not have :). All credits to the guys like Vovan77 or Kenga. Thanks. No reason to buy new brick for next 2 years :)

The major step for Oreo and Pie for me is using Hi-Res audio BT codecs like Aptx HD and LDAC ...for BT headphones users (sespecially SONY headphones) the OS upgrade is simply a must :)

Thanks again!

I bought 3 different battery right about the same time, just to test it out; here's what I can tell-

Generic - No name "look somewhat like the original" battery.

>>Work fine, but with lower mah (about 2300-2500), otherwise it has similar characteristic to the original battery. Cheapest of the bunch. Came in a sealed plastic (antistatic?) bag and a generic tools.

Nohon - The "branded" one that come with a nice box and tools.

>>Very good battery; I think it's even better than the original. Full capacity as advertised and highly recommended. There's a barcode printed on the batt that I can see though the sticker that say it has 11.xx Wh or somethung, which is similar to the orignal batt. It has different stats from all other battery I've tested and seem to have a different characteristic about it. (for example, the profile it use is X11_lg or something instead of X11_atl, and it show full charge designed as ~3110 instead of the usual 3071)

Losoncoer - The one that claims it has anywhere from 3-4000 to over 9000 mah and keep editing its product page with a new photoshopped image of the battery with increasingly more mah and more nonsensical engrish description.

>>Absolute garbage!; ~1500-1700 mah, which is even worse than the generic one though this might be a defective batt (I doubt it, it charge and work fine, it just simply ****ty). Batt came in a non-airtight plastic seal with a generic sets of tools, a user manual full of engrish and stronk language that basically full of bullshit like "you need to use it for 3-5 cycle before batt gain super-saiyan power and become good" or otherwise try to convinced you that this is the greatest battery ever and if you think it's **** then you are using it wrong, plus an unusable "phone stands" (and I really mean unusable, it can't even hold a sponge upright let alone a phone) .... I've peel off the sticker and there's nothing printed on it at all; I've seen someone post a pic of this batt with something printed on the batt, and it said like 2000 mah or something. .... Oh, and it took 2 and a half months to arrive. (all other took about a week)

None of them have working temp sensor. (always show ~30C)

I've bought the Nohon one 2 weeks ago.
It cost me around 15 euros including shipping.

After a few days it says 3100mah. So i'm happy. My phone has almost 3 years and is ready to run a few more years.

Thanks.

After reading the good remarks from buktore I also firstly bought the Nohon BM35 battery.
By installing it in the phone I unfortunately break the tiny L flat cable. It was probably a very little bit too short and I probably pull too much on it and the cable rip :(
So after 3 weeks delivery waiting I was sad. I didn't want to wait 3 weeks more, so I bought an other BM35 battery from Green Cell from amazon.
I receive it a few days after. This time, I firstly connect the flat battery cable to the phone carefully and then introduce the battery slowly in its place, so I don't have to pull directly on the connector.
After about one month using my phone and using the very good Watermelon kernel-v2.7 with the crDroid rom, I'm happy that my phone runs again for 2,5 days on average.

I hope that my experience installing a BM35 battery in a MI4c phone will help other people not making the same handling mistake as I have made and also would add the Green Cell BM35 battery to the list of good batteries.
