FWIW, I now use a Wintec 16GB Class 10 in my MT4G and it has lived up to expectations. I tested it to write at better than 10 MB/s with CrystalDiskMark

The Nook inherited its SanDisk 8GB class 4... which is a solid card.

I'd buy the Wintec again in a heartbeat though... Its super affordable on Newegg.
i also purchased the wintec card. works great, especially for the price.

SanDisk Class 2 cards are plenty fast. With the Nooks internal storage no one should have to put apps on the SD.

Absolute best deal out there!

SanDisk 16 GB microSDHC Flash Memory Card SDSDQ-016G (Bulk Packaging) at Amazon - $23.95 including shipping.

I'm surprised no one's mentioned it yet, but those that are fortunate enough to have a Micro Center near them can get a 16gb Class 4 Micro SDHC card for $24.99, I'm too noob to post a link yet, search their site, SKU is 988618.

It doesn't list the class info on their site, I called earlier and had an employee check the packaging, it's class 4. I'll pick one up later and reply if it's any different.

You may be able to beat the price by a couple of bucks via mail order, but it's a heck of a price for a retail location to have the item in hand right away.

I picked up a MicroCenter 16GB uSD card today. It was marked class 2, but I tested it and it is faster than that. HDTune gives it a 17MB/s transfer. Copying files in Windows has sustained write speed of over 10MB/s, and read over 17MB/s. Testing in mt NC, it shows 5MB/s write, 11MB/s read. Total after tax $27. If it craps out, I can return it at a local store. Works for me!

Colorado, have you filled the entire card, then deleted all the data, a couple times prior to testing the data speeds?
I have filled it and erased it 2 times, but not for purposes of the test, just copied some things and then decided to put other media on it. Still tests out good.

Still, much faster then the 8GB class 2 SanDisk card it is replacing ever was.
The issue is kind of like overclocking. The class speed is a minimum that the card will meet but some will do much better. I have a Kingston 8GB printed class 2 that tests out class 6.

I've seen from another forum a user that tried two different Wintec Class 10 16GB cards from Newegg and saw terrible performance when running Froyo off of SD. Can anyone confirm if they've had better results with this card on FroyoSD?

I've also seen this card on Newegg which has gotten rave reviews:

Has anyone tried this one?
I would imagine, as a class 6 it would be slower. Seems they are guaranteed to read at 6mb/s

Spend another $15 and you get a 16gb class 10 (tested at 16mb/s), plus 8gb more memory. http://www.frys.com/product/6427462?site=sr:SEARCH:MAIN_RSLT_PG

I have 3 of these. My A-Data and RiData cards of the same 8gb size, class 6 totally suck in comparison. I've not had one issue in using this exact card, and often play movies off of it. Transcend is quality stuff.
