hi all

i've just got my s3, ive taken my sd card from my s1 and put it into the s3 but it doesn't show, the mount option is greyed out.

i've tried a diffrent ard and its the same , they both work in my pc and the s1

could i have a faulty sd slot?

thanks

Check your sd card by using other phone. This way will know whether your sd card defect or not

Install the app 'Terminal Emulator'
Type "dmesg" but do not hit Enter yet.
Remove the SDcard and reinsert it.
ASAP Hit Enter in Terminal Emulator

Post the output

thanks for you reply, think terminal emulator needs rooting and don't really want to root my phone as i use skygo.

dmesg doesn't magically repair your phone, it outputs a log so I/we can see what's wrong.
Please repeat the steps but instead of "dmesg" use "dmesg > /sdcard/logfile.txt" (no quotes) and then attach the file "logfile.txt" on your internal storage to your next post.

I too used the SD card from my S1 into my s3 without any problems. My s3 recognised it immediately. Think u might have a faulty slot
