Giving the questions that pop around here every now and then, I want to start a new thread regarding this problem. Please post your findings here and I promise I'll keep this post up to date.

You should mention: Brand, Size and Model (class) of the card, phone (Defy or Defy+), ROM version of the Defy, link to a shop or the producer's page about the card. First three pieces of information are critical.

Samsung 32 GB Class 10 Essential series ( MB-MSBGA/EU) formatted in phone, Defy (with green lens), ROM 2.2.2 (original Nordic ROM without Blur), [no URL since I have too few posts to post links]

The memory card works perfectly so far. I have filled it with 17 GB music and photos. No problems when writing to the card when taking photos etc. To be on the safe side I reformatted the card in the phone before use. The reformat changed the sector size of the file system from 32 kB to 4kB, same as on the original 2GB card delivered with the phone.

I can confirm that the Team 16gb class 10 SD card works very good. Defy, Froyo kernel, CM9.

Nokia's SD cards are usually class 2 .

I can confirm that the

SanDisk Mobile Ultra microSDXC 64GB class 6

works fine on my Defy (red lense, CM 7.2RC nightly)(!)

Roundup:

- all class 4 cards work on any ROM
- class 6 cards sometimes work on stock ROM, but often don't
- class 10 cards almost never work on stock ROM

The Android bug that bites class 6 & 10 cards is fixed in CyanogenMod, so if you run CM7+ or another ROM based on CM you don't have to worry about incompatible cards.

oh ok that means it also work with miui since it based on cm7(those with class 6 and 10)

Hi guys,

Regarding 64gb class10 microsd.. I'm going to try this one
SanDisk Ultra 64GB microSDXC Card

I remember reading about we had to format the card but can't remember if to ext3, extFAT, FAT32 or what.
I've also read that the card needs to be formated to 64kb per cluster.

Can you please enlighten me?

Defy micro-SD compatibility

Defy MB 525
HP 16GB Class 4
Android 2.2.1
System Version 34.4.9

Causes serious problems. Lost pictures. Apps accessing card cause freezes. Music storage causes freezes.

So I should get a class 2 micro SD. Is capacity also known to cause problems?

Any help making this phone run smoother would be appreciated. Already turned on debugging.
