A couple of days ago my DHD (running IceColdSandwich 8.2 at the time (now 8.3)) decided to tell me that my MicroSD card was damaged.
I decided to put the card into my PC and try and take a look that way - nothing. Sometimes came up as a device and sometimes didn't.
In the end I used one of the various recovery programs on the net and surprisingly, it instantly saw my MicroSD and recovered pretty much everything.

There is a few corrupted files and images but the majority of stuff is perfect - such a relief.

I simply told windows to format the SD card and it's fine again...

Why would this of happened, I thought the card was physically damaged but apparently not.

Odd stuff - plus its a Lexar, not an unbranded ebay card.

Anyone had similar experiences?

Same thing happened to me. Phone kept saying "SD-card removed" but when
I put it into a reader I could access my files again. What I thought was odd was
that every single file would move out from the SD-card without a trouble except
for a video-file that kept giving me an error.

By any chance, were you recording a high-quality video while this occurred?
I think has to do with error when writing big files to memory. Could be due to
cheap SD-card (mine is one).
