Microsoft Exchange email problems

I seem to be having problem getting my email to connect. When I set up my account (as with my 3 previous Android devices using Exchange and setting it manually) all seems fine; all my emails seems to show up I can see the email header, but as soon as I tap on the message I get a "Connection Error" .
It is a overseas import, so I'm not sure if that is my problem. I assume I could flash the North American ROM, just not sure if that would fix my problem (really hate to do that for a phone that's only 2 days old )
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

I had that same problem on my Xperia S but on Z1 exchange is working perfectly.

Try this:
Go to email settings and change "days to synchronize" to two weeks or even less.

It will, probably work fine.
;)

Unfortunately I still get the same connection error. Just to be sure I erased my old account and on the last attempt changed it all the way down to daily... Still no luck.
It must be making some type of retrieval to get the headers, it seems to be a problem to get the rest of the email. I have read this maybe a problem with the version of exchange on my phone as compared with my cable provider.

I had the same problem too w Z1 with shaw in Edmonton, it only worked once then after that I kept getting connection error, doesn't matter how many days I set it to retrieve messages, I had no problem w exchange on the S3

Wow, same city and same provider...

I read on their forum that Sony's version of Exchange is (essentially) incompatible with Shaw's version. I tried flashing a few different "generic" ftf files, all to no avail. I set it up as a pop account, so no push notifications.

Not sure who to be mad at; Sony for deciding not to include antiquated versions of Exchange, or Shaw for being behind the times. :p
