Microsoft Exchange on ICS

I have to bump this. I am having the same problem - i.e. cannot synchronise with Microsoft Exchange. The notification: "Your Exchange server requires that you enable security policies to continue synchronizing. Would you like to continue?" - I clicked OK every single time. The screen briefly flashes but nothing happened. I even encrypted the SD card and did set all security settings to the pre-ICS levels. I can see Face Unlock is disabled because of security settings, so something must be working but Microsoft Exchange is not recognising it.

This is really frustrating and I need my email to work on my phone!

This guy who posted on code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=22975#c202 (can't post link as a new member) seems to be having the same problems, but no-one replied to him directly.

I know it may or may not be the ideal solution, but when I had my HTC Desire it also had problems with exchange active sync, and like the Desire I have installed the AOSP ICS mail apk and so far push email has been working fine and sticking to the assigned settings regardless of reboots etc.

Hi, a suggestion for you!
And maybe op and others to try :)

I also had sync issues with ICS and Sense 3.5/6 and 4, they always reverted back to 15 min, 5kb etc.
But surprise surprise! Baadnewz's Sense 4 beta10 includes a fix for this!!! :D
I can set options like sync every hour, full message download and they stick!
Even upon reboot :)

Finally HTC became aware of the issue (and did something about it), maybe it solves issues for op as wel..
It's NOT a fix.
All Sense 4.0 Roms just doesn't have this issue that's affecting only ICS Sense 3.5 and 3.6
If you want a full working exchange email app you have to flash an AOSP (CM9 Opensensation / MIUI) or a Sense 4.0 Rom
Until HTC releases a RUU that fixes the issue under Sense 3.6 you'll never get anywhere.

Milling around Milton Keynes
If your Exchange server is 2003 then HTML will be greyed out, it's only supported on Exchange 2007/2010.

For the security issue, check with your admin team to find out the requirements, I'd expect in most cases it just needs a pin, but they may have set it to 6 characters (if memory serves that's the default).
Only a particularly evil/paranoid admin would require encryption on personal devices.

Had the same issues. Found easy but expensive solution - search for Touchdown email client in Play Market.
